11/14: 86-71. 18, 7, 4 for Sg Ben Hogg, 18, 7 for C John Hays, 16, 5 for 6th man Lyn Fish. +10 TOs.

#1 ranked, #1 seed Kentucky in the 2nd round. Yikes!

11/16: 87-94. We never led but it was close all the way. I couldn’t be prouder of my guys and the way they played. 24 for Hogg, 18, 4, 6 for PG Brad Goes, 16 for PF Vic Walk.

11/20: All of our recruits sign.

12/4: 4-2, RPI #28. We’re still coming together as a team, and still adjusting the lineup. Fish and Dell are getting more time now.

12/25: 8-2, RPI #25. 5 game winning streak. +6.7 PPG (#45), +4.4 RBs, +3.2 TOs. Dell is now starting at PG and Fish is getting starter’s minutes, playing SF and PF.

1/1/2022: 9-3, 1-1. We lost at Duquesne. They’re picked to win the conf.

1/15: 12-4, 4-2, RPI #35. In a 6 way tie for 1st with 4 more one game back- it’s early.

1/29: 14-6, 6-4, tied for 3rd, 2 back of 1st. +3.5 PPG (#134- awful!), +5.5 RBs, +2.3 TOs. We need to step up our game.

2/12: 17-7, 9-5, RPI #44. We’re not scoring the way I would like us to (#124 nationally). In a 3 way tie for 3rd in the A10, 1 back of 1st, and it is in reach.

2/26: We end the regular season at 20-9, 12-6, alone in 2nd, behind St. Bonnie’s. RPI #41. +3.4 PPG (#129), +5.1 RBs, +2.5 TOs. Balanced scoring with 4 guys averaging 10.7 or more, and the 5th starter, Erik Dell has averaged more than 10 since becoming a starter.

3/7: We play #7 seed UMass, 13-15, 10-8, in the quarters. They won by 8 there, then we won by 15.

3/8: 92-64. We were HOT! 25, 13 for Hays, 23, 7, 6 for SG Ben Hogg, 17 for Fish, 15 for Dell. +18 RBs, 11 TOs.

#3 seed Davidson, 16-13, 11-7, in the semis. We won by 12 there.

3/9: 85-72. 24, 16 for Vic Walk, 19, 4, 5 for Dell. +10 RBs, 5 TOs.

We play #4 seed Dayton, 18-11, 11-7, for the title. Won by 14 there, lost by 6 here. They are favored by ½ point.

3/10: 79-90. They jumped out to a big early lead and we never quite got back into it. 24 for Hogg, 20, 8 for Hays, but -15 RBs.

I think we’ll be in the tourney but probably with a pretty poor seed.

3/12: NIT, #1 seed in the East. Disappointing. We play #8 seed Wagner, 15-14.

3/13: 82-60. We led all the way. 26, 7 for Fish, 20, 7 for Robb, 17, 2, 7 for Dell, 15 for Hogg. +13 TOs.

#4 seed Clemson, 19-12, in round 2. Tough team.

3/15: 79-72. Close most of the way. 23, 6, 4 for Hogg, 17, 6, 4 for Fish. +15 RBs. 25 TOs didn’t help.

#2 seed St. Mary, 23-10, in the quarters. This looks like a tight matchup.

3/20: 76-74 in OT. We blew a 19 point lead and almost blew the game. But we got it together, barely, in OT. 23, 5 for Hogg, 15, 15 for Hays. A real battle.

It’s #1 seed in the Midwest, Wake Forest, 20-13 in the round of 4. They are very tough outside.

3/28: 92-93. Their SG was incredible with 48 for the night including the winner, a 25 footer at the buzzer. 20, 12 for Hays in his last college game. 16, 10 for Walk, 14, 8 for Fish, 13 each for our starting guards. But that SG did us in.

4/3: #9 Louisville is the champ.

4/4: Awards: A10 POY is John Hays, who made the 1st team along with Vic Walk. Ben Hogg made 2nd team and I was A10 COY again.

4/16: I lose all 3 assistants. I hire new ones but it’s expensive.

4/23: We need money. We get $10,500. It helps but we’ll only be able to by the Basic National report.

PPG 79.1, #93. 25-11. Overall 74-31, .705.

Heading for season 4.

6/12: We get him.

6/26: 6 scholarships and not a lot of recruiting money.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs, an SG, 2 PFs, a C.

9/18: Got 3, lost 2. Got a C, an SG, and a PF.

Coaches Classic vs. Western KY.

9/25: Got a PG, lost 2 guys.

10/2: We lose one.

First day of practice.

Senior Vic Walk is at SF with frosh Mel Barr subbing there.

Soph Lyn Fish starts at PF, subs at C. Junior Tom Grif subs at PF.

Soph Lou Jaxx, a transfer from Clemson, is at C.

11/13: 79-58. We led all the way. 17, 13 for C Lou Jaxx, 18, 8 for PF Lyn Fish. +11 RBs, 8 TOs.

#1 seed, #4 ranked Duke in round 2. I don’t think we’re ready for this big a challenge.

11/15: 77-101. They were unstoppable. 13, 7 for Fish, 15 for sub guard Bern Hogg, 13 for SG Brad Goes.

11/20: 1-1. All recruits signed.

12/4: 5-1, RPI #48. We like the lineup just as it is. Goes and Hogg are getting about equal playing time at SG but their stats and their D are about equal, so we’ll leave it like that for now.

12/25: 9-1. We’re looking really good. RPI #22. +11.4 PPG (#40), +10.3 RBs, +2.1 TOs. Lou Jaxx leads us with 16.7, 9.6. Tom Hill gets 6.0 assists.

Duquesne, but they beat us at our place. 2 up on 4 teams.

3/7: We play #9 seed UMass, 11-17, 8-10, in the quarters of the A10 tournament.

3/8: 106-62. Never a game. 20, 4, 4 for Walk, 19, 5, 4 for Goes, 4 others with 12 or more. +12 RBs, 8 TOs.
#4 seed Dayton, 17-12, 10-8, in the semis. Beat them easily twice.

3/9: 73-81. 36% shooting, Jaxx was in foul trouble all night, and we just weren’t focused. This is a game we should have won. 18, 15 for Fish but he didn’t get much help.

We had hopes for a #4, even a #3 seed if we won the tournament. Now? I’d be happy with a #6.

3/12: #6 Midwest. We play #11 Nevada, 21-10, first.

3/16: 85-69. 18, 10 for Jaxx, 11, 4, 11 for Hill, great team effort. +17 RBs, 11 TOs.

#3 seed, #8 ranked Michigan, 24-7, in round 2. They’re the better team, but not by that much. We can win this one if we play well.

3/18: 75-78. 15 lead changes, 4 ties. We played our best all night long. They had the last possession and hit a three at the buzzer. 30 and 14 for Jaxx.

4/3: #1 ranked Cincy wins it all.

4/4: Awards: Lou Jaxx is A10 POY and 1st team. Tom Hill and Lyn Fish make the 2nd team. I get Conf. COY again.

4/23: I ask for $ again. No.

27-6, 15-3, #16, RPI #24, 85.3 PPG, #7. Overall, 101-37, .732.

Heading for the fifth and final season.
