3/7: We face #9 seed GW, 16-13, in the quarters of the A10 tourney. We won by 19 there.
3/8: 87-76. They led by 8 early and by 6 at the half but we woke up after the break. 19, 13 for C Art Tigg. 4 others with 12 or more. 10 TOs.
#4 seed ST Louis, 17-13, 10-8, in the semis. Beat them by 10 at our place.
3/9: 86-65. An easy win. 23, 7 for SF Kal Coff, 18, 11 for Tigg. 11 TOs.
#6 seed St Bonnie, 16-15, 10-8, shocked #2 seed, #17 ranked Duquesne. We play them for the title.
3/10: 96-85. A breeze. We led by 24 at the half. 30, 7 for Coff, 22, 8 for Mamm, 12, 10 for 6th man Luke Bord. 8 TOs.
#8 ranked, #4 RPI. I can see a #3 seed and a #2 is not out of the question.
3/12: #4 East. I’m livid. A #4 in the hardest bracket. I unloaded at the press conference which was probably not wise, but this is outrageous! We play #13 CCSU, 24-6.
3/16: 91-82. They led by as many as 8, and by 3 at the half. We finally started playing with about 12 minutes left. 16, 6 for Coff, 12, 10 for Tigg, but -11 RBs. I am not happy.
#12 seed GA ST, 23-9, shocked #5 Arkansas. We play them in round 2 and the door is open to our first Sweet Sixteen! Overconfidence is my biggest worry.
3/18: 81-54. A walk in the park. 16, 12 for Coff, 15, 10 for Hugg, 13, 10 for Tigg, 13 for Bord. +15 RBs, 9 TOs, and our first Sweet Sixteen.
We face #1 seed, #1 ranked Kentucky, 30-3, the best team we’ve faced in my 5 years at RI. We don’t match up badly inside, but they have a huge edge outside.
3/23: 62-86. We never had a chance. 20, 13 for Mamm, 19, 10 for Tigg, but as expected they killed us outside. Great season!
4/3: We lost to the national champs.
Final stats for the Flex offense: 82.3 PPG (#28), 31-4. Overall, 134-37, .784. On to the Princeton offense (I’m skipping High Post and Shuffle for now.).
