End game use of timeouts

End game use of timeouts

Postby markprior22 » Sun Nov 08, 2020 6:12 pm

Watching my team play a simmed game. Down 24-21 and get the ball back with 1:45 left. Moved the ball, picked up a couple first downs and....game over. Didn't use any timeouts (AI team used two). Had a very realistic shot at a game tying FG if timeouts were used properly. Any chance of a quick fix for this? Pretty much invalidates the entire game when it ends like this.

Next game I watched, same scenario at end of first half. Team was moving with over a minute left, took no timeouts.

I'd probably need more info as I've seen the CPU call timeouts and spike the ball as necessary to preserve clock if the clock is running. I'm not sure why the winning team would be calling timeout at that point... it's not something I've noticed and isn't coded that way.

The first half makes a bit more sense as that one is a bit more controlled by how aggressive the coach is.

Winning team had just taken lead on previous drive and used timeouts then.
