He can move pretty fast, especially if there is food involved. Next season I'm thinking about putting a pork chop on the back of the rim.

May 1: Once again it's time to start planning for the coming year's recruiting, once again without any support from the University. With 6 scholarships to fill this year, it's a big job. As much as I'd like to be able to purchase the gold report for the region, the money is not there, so Jeremy and I decide to go with the basic reports for the nation and the region, and do our best to be frugal with the budget such as it is.

June 26: Once again no money to waste going to any of the camps. Jeremy and I begin to make a preliminary list of recruits. Not easy when we need a little of everything. Our biggest priorities will be post players and shooting guards.

Aug 7: Ike Jeffers has been named a pre-season honorable mention All-American. Good for him, well deserved!

Aug 21: As fall semester begins we have a few kids that need to get their grades up. We'll start getting them tutored immediately and hopefully they'll be doing well by the time practice starts in October.

Sep 11: Big week of travelling and meeting recruits. I'd like to say recruiting is going well, but I'd be lying. We've made some offers, but it's going to be hard to land the players this program is going to need.

Sep 15 We get a verbal commitment from

6'6 198 lb HS F Tim Ball from South View HS in Hope Mills, NC

Ball has largely been overlooked by DI schools, but he is athletic, can play defense, and shoot the ball and should be able to find a role with this team.

Sep 18: We've completed our schedule and it scares the hell out of me. Far and away the most difficult schedule we've played since I've been here. We were able to sign games at home with Va. Tech, Tennessee, Iowa and Utah, and we are traveling to Alabama and UMass, the team that knocked us out of the tournament last year. Throw in a trip to Charlotte, and we may have a very ugly record when the conference season begins. I may have well bitten off more than I can chew.

Oct 9: We receive our 2nd verbal commitment from:

6'7 196 lb HS F Billy Harris from Sweetwater HS in Sweetwarter, TN

Despite his slight build, Harris has good length and a big wingspan along with some nice hops to play the 4. His most likely role in this program will be as a defensive specialist.

Oct 16: Not surprisingly with so much returning we are picked to repeat as conference champions. Coastal Carolins, High Point and Presbyterian are picked 2 through 4.
