I'll Be a Son of a Shark

Postby CoachC » Sun Nov 24, 2013 7:41 am

Oh well, guess it didn't matter. Just like when Cb2 frist went into beta, and I went back to my CB1 dynasty before starting beta, my most recent save file vanished into the either. My save file now has me starting again at MAY 1 before the season starts, and the backup file is the same. I'm not about to replay this entire season, so Aloha to Gary Winston....hope you get to know your Dad. (is there any particular reason why if you've not played the game in 6 months your save file should disappear? It's happened to me twice now in each of the first two versions of the game)

It would be one thing if my save file was corrupted, but it was saved 30 times since May 1st....how is that the most recent save?

not only does it revert back to the start of the season, but half of my roster are players I've never seen before. During this season I had 3 pure point guards, and now have ONE? makes no sense, but since it has happened twice now I can only wonder if there is some time-sensitive stamp going on that SHOULDN'T be going on, either in the save files or the database? In the future with CB3 until i get an answer to this strange behavior I'll open the game at least once a month just to save my association even if I'm not playing. This makes no friggin' sense.

MWC Tourney Semi-finals: (5) Boise St(8-20) vs (1) #15 UNM(24-5)

Postby CoachC » Sun Dec 01, 2013 1:37 am

ooc: been so long since I played in this dynasty, I hope I can even remember who my players are!

We defeated the Broncs on the road 83-70 in our only regular season matchup.

Nearly faultless play at both ends of the floor allows us to get out to a 40-22 lead at halftime. The only negative was rather lackluster rebounding (outrebounded 18-9, 6-1 on offensive rebounds). We do need to clean that up in the 2nd half.

Rebounding was a bit better in the 2nd half, and the offense was crisp throughout (an impressive 57.9% from the field for the game) and a big differential in A/To (22/5 for us, 13/20 for them) A solid team effort with everyone filling their roles nicely.

Jackson (21 pts, 7 rebs, 3 blocks) and Taylor(11 pts, 5 rebs) dominated in the low post. Martin had his shot working and added 17. Miller had a strong floor game with 5 pts, 10 asts and just 2 TOs in 28 minutes. Mad Dog and Stetson did their usual things on the floor that make everyone else look better, and Guy (7 pts in 19 minutes) and Tatum (6 pts in 7 minutes) provided some strong relief off the bench.

Final: UNM 77 Boise St. 55

ROFL...sounds like you had an unlicensed "bus driver".

But glad you're back on the road.

Uhhh...does this mean I have to give you back your players you donated to my New Hampshire team?

Mar 8: MWC Championship: Air Force(20-10) vs #15 UNM(25-5)

Postby CoachC » Sun Dec 01, 2013 3:54 am

We swept the season series versus the Falcons, but it's never easy to beat a team thrice in one year. The Falcons are a good team and could derail us if we don't bring our A game. AF is right on the bubble as a possible at-large team, and likely won't make the tournament without winning the championship. While it would be nice to have 2 teams from our conference in the tourney, allowing them to take the championship away from us is not the way we want it to happen. Their 1-3-1 zone will be a concern for us, and hopefully we come out shooting well against it and get after them defensively.

Although we handled their zone pretty well, and hit the board hard, our defense was a bit porous at times, and needs to improve in the 2nd half. Nevertheless we take a 36-31 lead into the locker room.

Not one of our best games of the season. Our defense was shoddy much of the game, although we did turn them over 23 times. Our own 15 turnovers didn't help us though. We hit all our freethrows at clutch time though, and manage to hang on for a 1 point victory. "whew"

Our big guys all played well. Jackson(13pts, 5 rebs), Taylor (9pts, 5 rebs, 1 blk) and Madic (8 pts, 8 rebs, 2 stls). Our defensive problems came in containing their point guard Hines who torched us for 25. Martin was never able to find his shot against the zone and was limited to 6 pts. Miller had another nice floor game though (12 pts, 8 asts, 4 rebs). Stetson had one of his best stat lines of the season and was the real hero of this game leading us with 16 pts,3 asts and 4 stls. he did have 5 turnovers however, and played 28 minutes without grabbing a rebound. Not a lot of production off the bench in this one other than Taylor, but Guy, Conley et al played adequately.

our 16th straight win to lock up the automatic bid.

Final: UNM 70 Air Force 69 had em all the way
