Apr 3: Maryland defeats Marquette in the championship game 72-60.

Apr 4: I am named MWC coach of the year. Madic is named 1st team all conference. Martin and Taylor make the 2nd team. Madic and Taylor will be missed next season, but we have a ton returning, and I am excited about the newcomers who all have the potential to become impact players.

Apr 30: Our request for a budget increase was approved by the board! That's a new experience for me! I love the support that this program gets not only from the community but from the university as well.

May 1: Our incoming class of recruits is ranked 13th in the nation. We are pretty excited about them too.

June 25: We won't be attending any camps this year. Even with the increased budget, buying the premium national scouting service reports is cutting it close with our recruiting budget with 3 scholarships to give. We got by on the skin of our teeth last year with all the trips out east.

June 26: Jeremy sit down to discuss our recruiting plan for this year. With so much depth inside and at the point. It's clear we need to focus on perimeter shooters, something we really lacked last year. A couple of quality twos and another 3 would be ideal.

In other notes. Terrance Taylor was picked up in the 2nd round of the NBA draft 45th over all. Former player Garvin Sanders from G-W was picked directly behind him. Good luck to both of them. Madic has signed with a top team in Israel.

Aug 7: All 3 of our newcomer's have been nominated for the norton award. I'm afraid that put too much heavy pressure on those guys.

Aug 21: Kids start arriving on campus. Everyone on our roster is looking great academically, so that's one less thing to worry about.

Sep 11: Busy week of travelling and now it's crunch time. TIme to open up a can of charm.

Sep 18: Home visits all went well, but no commitments yet. I'll pick up some more frequent flier miles and antacid tablets this week. Before heading off on the road, I sit down with the AD to hammer out the schedule. It's Brutal! We have probably scheduled the toughest non-conference schedule in the country, but the nice thing is we are able to get a lot of these teams to come to us! There are probably at least 6 or 7 teams on our schedule who will likely be ranked in the top 25 at some point this year. Maybe more. We are also in the Coaches Classic this year which will be full of studs as well.
It may be too much. Time will tell.
