Rookie Six Report – Year Seven
#17 PG Cort Majishun, Memphis Grizzlies – 23.5 points, 10.1 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 0.4 blocks
Career stats – 18.8 points, 9.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 steal, 0.3 blocks
Using the efficiency statistic, Majishun had the third best season in the league, but he was only one the All NBA Third team. Why? Because Ledaryl McMillian and Michael Taylor were the two guys ahead of him. Majishun really is a superstar in the league and is finally turning the Grizzlies around.

#43 PF Terry McKenzie, Dallas Mavericks – 20.2 points, 1.2 assists, 9.3 rebounds, 1.0 steal, 1.0 block
Career stats – 18.5 points, 1.2 assists, 8.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 0.9 blocks
Was a major part of his second championship in as many years as fellow Rookie Six member Jack Dawkins went down with a broken leg. McKenzie is now 29 years old and square in his prime so will need to continue this form for a few years more to really cement himself as one of the best in the class.

#13 SG Kenneth Long, Miami Heat – 20.4 points, 6.3 assists, 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 0.8 blocks
Career stats – 16.9 points, 6.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 0.9 blocks
A fixture in the All Star games while also peppering the All NBA and All Defence teams, Long is well and truly in his prime. As with every report, Long needs to play SG instead of masquerading as a PG but for the time being he’s doing really well with the Heat.

#41 SF Jack Dawkins, Dallas Mavericks – 18.2 points, 6.2 assists, 6.2 rebounds, 0.5 steals, 0.2 blocks
Career stats – 22.2 points, 5.6 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 0.7 steals, 0.3 blocks
Bitterly disappointed that he didn’t get to be out there on the court with his teammates who won the title, he’s already gearing to go for next season. He’s fully fit now and as the most rounded player in the Rookie Six he can do it all. At age 27 he’s already captained his team to three titles.

#45 C Art Stevenson, Cleveland Cavaliers – 16.0 points, 1.0 assist, 6.6 rebounds, 0.5 steals, 1.6 blocks
Career stats – 12.6 points, 0.9 assists, 6.2 rebounds, 0.5 steals, 1.4 blocks
One of only two members of the Rookie Six to change teams, Stevenson is loving being in Cleveland at the moment. With Jamil Fleming and Oskar Carlsson feeding him the ball his scoring numbers have gone up as well as his love for the game. He will be a free agent next season compared to the rest of the group who have an extra year.
2025 - NBA All-Rookie 2nd Team
#4 SG Chris Jones, Phoenix Suns – 15.3 points, 7.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 0.0 blocks
Career stats – 14.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 0.0 blocks
If Jack Dawkins is the most rounded player here then Jones is a pretty darn good runner up. He’s not playing PG finally but he is using the ball a lot which explains his assist numbers but the worrying thing about “The Wizard” game is that he is a below average shooter, averaging only 40.6% for his career.
