Norton Award

Norton Award

Postby markprior22 » Mon Mar 12, 2018 7:42 am

Is there any reason a freshman player can't be considered for this award? In the season I just finished, Florida had a freshman who averaged 34.5 ppg and 15 rpg. He also made 1st team All Defense nationally. Wasn't even on the list. Left early and was #1 pick in NBA draft. No one on the Norton list even began to approach his season. Just curious as to what might have happened here.

The other thing is, if you're not nominated for the Norton Award you will not ever be either a 1st or 2nd team All American in the game. That needs a fix, too.

There is nothing in the code that excludes a freshman but it does model the Wooden Award so players with bad GPAs and bad personalities are excluded from consideration.

The reason that all americans are always nominated for the Norton Award is because that's how the Wooden Award works. The top ten vote getters for the Wooden Award are the all-american team winners
