Similar to how i got my wife lol

So with no bribes, i was able to land the 8th, 11th, 15th and 22nd players!!! All the advice really paid off so thank you. There was one player who hung up on me in the first round, i wasnt on his top ten list but i kept on calling and boom one round i went from not even on the top ten list to number one! on the flip side the number one player in the country who was from arizona, who i was number one on the whole time blew me off for nc state at the end. hope he enjoys his new car lol

i think persistence is key and individual calls even after you heard everything helps.

This is one happy coach!

LOL. So she didn't say, "You had me when you said hello"? :D

Good going o with your recruiting. You're likely to lose one or two of those guys after their freshman year, but looks like you're on your way to contending for a national championship. Maybe the guy who went to NC was tired of deserts. That Porsche he's driving does look good though.

I ended up with the third best recruiting class. Would have been number one, but one kid couldnt make 900 on his sats so the school wouldnt take him. Should have bribed him with a tutor :D

In trying to figure out how good guys are, what correlation are you seeing between rankings, scouting, camp invites, and HS stats?

I did a test run for my dynasty because it is so deep and complicated, and it went horribly. I do not trust players with poor stats, but then I am uncertain when a player with good stats comes back bad. And then I wonder if players who weren't invited to any camps are any good or not. I suppose that I feel a bit lost in trying to figure out who is good or not. One thing that I wished the game would provide is shooting percentages for high school recruits. Efficiency is a big part of my philosophy, and because of how FGD/FGI/FGJ/FG3 are translated into Inside/Outside shooting, I do not trust those letter grades, either - especially when all the big men are A Inside Shooting, except for a couple of B players, whom I automatically reject.

As you seem to be finding out, recruiting isn't an exact science. All input is subject to error just as in real life. Rankings can be correct of off some, accuracy of ratings is highly subject to the capabilities of your coaches, HS/JC stats obviously are dependent upon the competition and also that player's role on his HS or JC team, camp reports are dependent upon those evaluating the camps and if the player had a good day at camp or not, comments are sometimes pretty accurate and other times a little off. So it's a matter of melding together all the data/input you can get to try to determine who is going to be good for your team...pretty much like in real life. Sometimes you analyze things correctly and sometimes a recruit performs and develops substantially different than what you expected. I think the more you play the game, the better you get at trying to determine who the best recruits will be and who is most likely to accept a scholarship offer. In general I guess I put greater trust in scouting reports and rankings, but ultimately it comes down to a gut feeling after looking over everything. Others probably feel differently as to what helps them the most.

Maybe the high degree of uncertainty and amount of "gray areas" are why I find recruiting to be the most fun part of DDSCB.

Good points. I may try tracking players from specific schools to see if I can get a sense of the competition they play against and have that be a factor.

Do you know what determines Pipeline state status? Obviously it is recruiting often from a state and getting them to commit, but I am not sure of the number of commits over how many seasons to qualify.

My expectation is that you won't have any success comparing high schools...it's probably pretty random...but not sure.

Pipeline states became part of the recruiting process a couple versions of DDSCB ago, so I don't recall how it's determined. Will leave the answer up to Gary (or someone with a better memory than mine).

If your team gets in trouble for illegal recruiting can you bolt to another school?

Not sure, but probably. They do that in r/l.

If it is like any other violation in the game, I have done it myself. However, any penalties does come with you to your new school.
