How to efficiently set and change rotations?

How to efficiently set and change rotations?

Postby frankinho » Thu Mar 22, 2018 11:28 am

I don't know if it is just me and i dont know how to properly use the tools made available to set and change rotations but i find the whole thing incredibly frustrating and counter intuitive. The biggest issue i find it that it just not easy and efficient to set and change rotations in case of injuries for example. No matter whether i set rotations manually or use the per minute option neither of those provides me the information i need to set the rotations and i basically need to jump back and forth between various screens to find the information i need and then get back to make the corrections.

The minimum amount of information I personally need to set rotations is as follows:
- Position
- Height & weight
- Seniority
- Ability/Potential

Obviously would also like information such as ratings but above is the bare minimum and must have.
I think that type of information needs to be provided to the user in any of the tools that enables rotations setting.

Would like to hear any other toughts on how people are using the rotation tools and what is your experience with those as I personally feel that is probably my no.1 thing that needs to be addressed (was rather disappointed that it wasn’t already with the new release)

I pretty much have the info I need about my team in my mind so don't need that when setting/resetting the rotation. Since there is specific info you want to view about your team and it is available on another screen, maybe just do a print screen for the necessary info screen you need and print it out so you can view it when needed.

None of us want to do any of that. That's why he's suggesting these changes to be implemented onto one screen.

I completely agree with him.

I understand that, but he wants something that isn't presently available and wants to more easily set his rotations NOW.

I was neither agreeing or disagreeing with him. In his original post, he asked how others were dealing with it, so that is why I mentioned that the info I needed for setting rotations was in my mind after working with team a bit, so I didn't personally need what he was suggesting.

I keep a separate player file. I list on it the name, primary position, overall Prestige (OVR) rating, and defensive rating. I list how many minutes I have the players set for at each position, and overall minutes. I find this saves me a lot of trouble. I just make a table for this info. Of course you could add any other info you need. It really doesn't take all that much time to compile the info. Yes, it would be nice to be able to pull up the Team Roster Ratings info side by side with the Rotation screen but until and unless that happens, a table works for me.

Do you have enough screen resolution to get the additional window on the right side? There is a quick roster view there - is that useful? Always listening and looking for ways to make things better

And if you can only see the left side, there's a SWAP area that switches from NEWS AND SOCIAL MEDIA to TEAM INFO, and the latter is where you can find the ROSTER view.

Thanks guys. I totally missed the roster view on the right side which does help a bit and at least provides me with some of the info i was looking for without the need to gather and show the info outside the game.
When i have some time i'll try and draw up some ideas for future improvements to this part of the game as i feel the game is awesome as a whole and would be more appealing and accessible to a wider audience by providing the information better in a few different screens and areas.

One additional question @Gary or other guys if you know - under the Rotation the players listed under "Choose player", how is that order determined as it seems random to me and i always takes me a bit of time to look through the players. One quick improvement that in my opinion would help a bit would be to show the players in the order they are set in the Depth chart. Anyway that could be patched in? ;)

Set your depth chart, go to ROTATION, Click on the 2nd AI SUGGEST, Sub Matrix Only. It will give you the lineup you want but NOT necessarily the minutes you want. It WILL put the players in the order you set them in the DEPTH CHART.
