5/1: #31 recruiting class. East Gold.

6/5: Room for one transfer. Going after a really good looking C.

6/12: Got the C!

6/26: 3 scholarships. We’re going for guards again.

8/7: Center Adam Horn is #20 on the Norton list.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs and an SG.

9/18: We lose all 3.

Hawaiian Shootout vs. Charlotte.

9/25: We get a PG, #414, and we lose the other two.

10/2: We lose another one.1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the A10.

10/9: We lose 2 more.

10/30: We keep losing recruits.

11/6: 8 man rotation:

Frosh Mat Hinn is at PG. Junior Ben Hoge starts at SG, subs at PG. Sophs Ad Brig and Jon Akae sub at SG.

Senior Jon Hays starts at SF subs at PF. Junior Vic Walk subs at SF.

Soph Tap Thop, a transfer from Indiana, starts at PF subs at C.

Junior Adam Horn, a transfer from Georgia, is at C.

11/17: 1-0. Headed for the Hawaiian Shootout. We’re the #4 seed. We play #5 Charlotte.

11/18: 89-65. 28, 15 for C Adam Horn, 19 for SG Ben Hoge, 14, 12 for SF Jon Hays. +17 RBs, 7 TOs.

#1 seed, #1 ranked Louisville in the semis. Uh oh!

11/19: 73-81. We battled them all the way. 19, 20 for Horn, 20, 6 for Hays, 13, 3, 9 for PG Mat Hinn. +11 RBs, but 20 TOs. They have great guards.

11/20: Our one recruit signed. Still chasing 2 others.

12/25: 7-3, RPI #82. +12.1 PPG (#23), +13.0 RBs, +3.9 TOs.

1/1/2022: 9-3, 2-0, RPI #97. Good start to A10 play!

1/29: 15-5, 8-2, RPI #64. Tied for 1st with VCU. +9.9 PPG (#11), +10.6 RBs, +3.0 TOs. Horn gets 17.0, 12.4.

2/12: 17-7, 10-4, RPI #58. Alone in 2nd, 1 back of 1st, 4 teams 1 back of us. Adam Horn is #7 on the Norton list.

2/26: We end the regular season 20-9, 13-5, alone in 1st. RPI #40, +7.1 PPG (#29), +10.0 RBs (#2), +2.4 TOs. Horn gets 17.4, 12.6 (#2 in the nation).

3/5: Horn is #6 on the Norton list.

No one is going pro.

3/7: We play #8 seed Duquesne, 18-12, 10-8, in the quarters. We won by 10 at our place.

3/8: 82-74. 34, 19 for Horn. +28 RBs.

#5 seed ST Joe, 19-12, 11-7, in the semis. Beat them by 16 then by 3 there.

3/9: 79-90. No D at all.

Damn! Once again on the bubble, RPI #42.

3/12: NIT again. #1 Midwest. We play #8 Northern Iowa, 19-11.

3/13: 89-72. 28, 10 for Horn, 18 for 6th man Vic Walk. +13 RBs, +7 TOs.

#5 seed VMI, 23-8, in the 2nd round.

3/15: 79-69. 24 for Hoge, 18, 8 for Thop. +11 RBs, only 6 TOs.

#2 seed Illinois, 17-15, in the round of 8. They could challenge us.

3/20: 77-59. 19 each for Hoge and Hays. Our last 2 opponents have doubled Horn and we were able to find the open man.

#1 seed Arizona, 18-13, in the round of 4.

3/28: 91-81. 18, 7, 5 for Thop, 17 for Walk, 13, 8 for Horn.

#8 seed Santa Clara, 21-13, for the NIT title. On paper we should win easily, but they’ve been hot throughout the tourney.

3/30: 88-80 and the title! 27 for tourney MOP Ben Hoge, 13, 12 for Horn, 13 for PG Mat Hinn. It was close all the way. We scored the last 7 points.

4/3: #2 ranked Duke wins it all.

4/4: Awards: Junior Adam Horn is a 1st team All American. In the A10 Horn is POY, Def. POY, 1st team. Junior Ben Hoge and soph Tag Thop make 2nd team. I am A10 COY.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. No.

26-10, 83.4 PPG (#26). Overall for 3 seasons, 72-33, .686.

5/1: We knew it was a poor recruiting class, but #195? National basic.

Starting PG Mat Hinn transfers out. Ouch!

6/5: We have room for a transfer. We go after a PG.

6/12: We don’t get him.

6/26: 5 scholarships.

8/7: Adam Horn is #12 on the Norton list.

8/21: We offer to a PG, an SG, 2 PFs, and a C.

9/18: We lose 3.

Hoops Tourney vs. Creighton.

9/25: We get a PF, #74, lose 2.

10/2: Got 2, lost 2. Got a C, #56, a PG, #140.

1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the A10.

10/9: We lose another one.

10/16: Got an SG, #98.

11/6: 7 man rotation:

Senior Ben Hoge is at PG. Frosh Jam Mill starts at SG. Juco junior Andy Arms subs at both guard spots.

Senior Vic Walk is at SF.

Soph Lou Jack, a transfer from VA Teach starts at PF, subs at C. Junior Tag Thop subs at SF and PF.

Senior Adam Horn is at C.

11/20: 2-0 start but I can’t say we’re looking good yet.

All 4 recruits sign. Hoping to get one more.

12/22: 7-1 heading for the Hoops Tourney. We face #3 seed Creighton, 7-1. We’re #6.

12/23: 84-70. 22, 8 for Horn, 20, 5 with 6 steals for SG Jam Mill, 17 for Walk. +18 TOs.

#2 seed Tennessee, 8-1, in the semis. This one looks like a real toss up.

12/24: 82-64. 27, 12 for PF Lou Jack, 13, 10 for Horn, 17 for Horn. +14 RBs.

#5 seed Cal, 9-1, for the title. We think we’re better but they’re good.

12/25: 67-74. They got out to a 17 point lead, 14 at the half. We cut it to a one possession game several times but never quite got over the hump. 21, 11 for Horn, 14 each
for Hoge and Walk.

We go to A10 play 9-2. Only #87 in PPG.

1/1/2023: 11-2, 2-0, ranked #25, RPI #27.

1/29: 17-4, 8-2, #18, RPI #29. Tied for 1st in the A10. +11.5 PPG (#15), +10.7 RBs, +2.3 TOs. Horn is #6 on the Norton list.

2/26: We end the regular season 26-4, 16-2, #10, RPI #22, alone in 1st in the A10. +13.4 PPG (#13), +12.9 RBs, +1.7 TOs. Horn remains #6 on the Norton list.

3/8: 75-55. 22, 17 for Horn, 17, 11 for Jack. +29 RBs.

#5 seed LaSalle, 20-10, 11-7, in the semis. Beat them by 21 at our place.

3/9: 81-65. 15, 10 for Horn, 17, 7, 3 for Mill, 13 each for Hoge and Jack.

#2 seed, #21 ranked ST. Joe, 24-8, 15-3, for the title. They won by 19 there, then we won by 18 here.

3/10: 92-77 and the title. 17, 10 for Jack, 17, 7 for Horn, 14, 7, 7 for Hoge. +23 RBs.

Hoping for a #3 seed but it will more likely be a #4.

3/12: #4 Midwest. We play #13 Ball State, 21-12.

3/16: 98-89. 31, 14 for Horn, 24, 12 for Jack. +16 RBs.

#5 seed, #24 ranked Tennessee, 23-9 in the 2nd round. We beat them by 18 in the Hoops Tourney but they’ve been playing wel;l since then.

3/18: 77-56. 25, 13 for Horn, 18, 4, 7 for Hoge, 13, 9 for Jack. +15 RBs, 8 TOs.

In the Sweet Sixteen vs. #1 seed, #5 ranked GA Tech 28-8. They’re a big favorite.

3/23: 92-93. They hit a three at the buzzer for the win. Tough loss. 23, 14 for Horn, in his last college game.

4/3: We lost to the champs, GA Tech won it all.

4/4: Awards: Adam Horn is 2nd team All American. In the A10 Horn is POY, Def. POY, and 1st team with soph Lou Jack. Senior Ben Hoge made the 2nd team.

4/23: Asking for a facilities upgrade. Got it! We move to B.

31-5, #8, Sweet Sixteen, 84.3 PPG (#9). Overall for 4 seasons, 103-38, .730.

5/1: Recruiting Class #35. Ouch! We lose Jack and Mill! It’s going to be tough.

6/5: Last season of the test so no transfers, no recruiting.

9/18: Golden ST classic vs. FL ST.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We’re picked 3rd in the A10.

11/6: 7 man rotation:

Senior Ad Brig is at PG. Senior Andy Arms starts at SG, subs at PG. Senior Jon Akae subs at SG.

Senior Scot Jaxx is at SF. Frosh Lou Jens subs at SF and PF.

Senior Tag Thop starts at PF subs at C. Juco junior Jon Hawk is at C.

11/20: 2-0 start. We’re still figuring out who we are.

12/8: 5-1, RPI #60 headed to the Golden ST Classic. We face #4 seed FL ST, 3-3, we’re the #5 seed.

12/9: 63-75. Sub guard Jon Akae had 21, and SG Andy Arms had 14. Tag Thop had 10, 11. But we didn’t play well.

12/25: 7-2, RPI #41. +6.8 PPG (#92), +10.3 RBs, +1.7 TOs.
