1/1/2130: 14-0, 2-0. We beat #3 ranked Michigan ST by 23 there.

1/15: 18-0, 6-0, #1, RPI #1. 2 game lead in the Big Ten.

Bela Reese is off to the Constitutional Convention. She’ll be gone at least a month.

1/29: 22-0, 10-0, #1, RPI #1, 2 game lead. +27.0 PPG (#1, #2), +20.3 RBs (#1), +4.4 TOs (#4).

SF Jam Noya is #3 on the Norton list. PF Cris Cofe is #14, SG Juss Tuns is #18.

2/12: 26-0, 14-0, #1, RPI #1. 3 game lead.

Jam Noya is #2 on the Norton list. Cris Cofe is #13, JUss Tuns is #20.

2/14: A bomb went off in the hall housing the Constitutional Convention. All the delegates were killed.

2/16: Police and soldiers are in armed combat. Some are siding with the wealthy, some with “The People Rule.” There is chaos in the streets.

2/19: The revolutionary side seems to be in control in most places and the combat has mostly stopped. Life is getting back to normal.

As to basketball, games have been rescheduled.

2/26: 30-0, 18-0. #1, RPI #1. We win the Big Ten by 5 games. +26.5 PPG (#1, #1), +18.8 RBs (#1), +4.5 TOs (#2).

There is, once again, a curfew in place and there are soldiers and police everywhere. No word on restarting efforts toward representative government.

3/5: Jam Noya declares for the draft. No surprise, and I’m happy he’s the only one. Noya is #6 on the Norton list and Cris Cofe is #10.

3/7: We play #9 seed Wisconsin, 12-17, 7-11, in the quarters.

3/8: 95-68. 20, 12 for Cofe, 18, 7 for Noya, 13, 11, 7 for Tuns. +31 RBs, 8 TOs.

#4 seed, #15 ranked Maryland, 22-9, 12-6, in the semis. Beat them by 11 there.

3/9: 72-47. 19, 9 for Tuns, 14, 15 for Noya. 70 RBs!

#2 seed, #17 ranked Michigan, 22-8, 13-5, for the title. Beat them by 27 at home.

3/10: 86-64. 36, 7 for Noya.

33-0, #1. We expect to be the #1 seed overall. It may be arrogant but I don’t think anyone can beat us.

3/12: #1 East, #1 overall. We play #16 Western Illinois, 16-16.

3/16: 58-45. Worst we’ve played all season. Superior talent won it for us but we were awful.

#8 seed Marquette, 21-9, in the 2nd round.

3/18: 89-59. We’re back on track. 23, 14 for Tuns. 70 RBs, 7 TOs.

#4 seed, #19 ranked Michigan ST, 25-8, in the Sweet Sixteen. Beat them by 23 and 24.

3/23: 84-59. 25, 7 for Tuns, 16, 7 for Noya. +14 RBs.

#7 seed, #24 ranked Kent ST, 29-5, in the Elite Eight.

3/25: 93-70. 25, 13 for Noya, 19, 3, 5 for Tuns, 15, 1, 13 for Joht, 15, 11 for Cofe.

We’re in the Final Four. We play #1 seed, #2 ranked Georgia Tech, 34-2, in the national semifinal. We’re a huge favorite but they can play, especially inside.

4/1: 75-61. We never trailed, broke out to a big early lead and held it. 18, 6 for Cofe, 15, 11 for Noya. +14 RBs.

#3 seed, #21 ranked Duke, 26-12, for the title. We beat them by 18 in the Coaches Classic.

4/3: 68-55. They made us work for it a little but we took over in the 2nd half. 16, 6 for 6th man Wade Park, 14, 7 for Noya. +11 TOs.

It’s great to get that 1st title!

4/4: Awards: Frosh Jam Noya is Final Four MOP and 1st team All American. Frosh Cris Cofe is a 2nd team All American. I am National COY. In the Big Ten, Noya and Cofe make the 1st team. Senior Juss Tuns makes the 2nd team.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. Got it. A- to A.

Perfect season and my 1st national title. Overall, 484-155, .757 for 19 seasons.

Still no word about what the national government will look like and no word about any elections. Locally, the UConn President and Provost are running things. The Pres. announced that there will be a nine member council. She and the Provost will be on it and the other seven members will be elected. Elections in the Fall.

(Author’s Note: Been experimenting until this association and completely forgot about my “house rules” regarding recruiting. They will be in place starting with the new season.)

5/1: #1 recruiting class. #2 pre-season. Buying the Nat. Gold, Int. Basic.

6/5: Room for a transfer.

6/9: We offer to an SG from Stanford.

6/12: We get him.

6/26: 4 scholarships. We probably want 2 and 2. Maybe 3 bigs.

8/7: 7 on the Norton list: PF Cris Cofe is #6, PF Ken Litt is #7, PG Greg Joht is #9, PF Lou Cast is #11, PF Bob Evan is #15, C Ron Rell is #30, and PG Will Jank is #38.

8/21: We offer to a PG, an SG, and 2 Cs.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: We get 3, lose 1. We get 2 Cs, #13, #24, and an SG, #26. We went for the #1 guy overall but didn’t get him.

Hawaiian Shootout vs. Baylor.

9/25: We lose one. Trying to land one more.

10/2: We get a PG, #15.

1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the Big Ten.

11/6: 8 man rotation to start:

Junior Greg Joht is at PG. Soph Carl Jaks starts at SG, subs at PG. Senior Dan Wilx subs at SG.

Frosh Ken Litt starts at SF but frosh Bob Evan gets equal time there.

Soph Cris Cofe is at PF. Senior Lou Cast is at C. Senior Ron Rell subs at PF and C.

Can we repeat as national champs? How long can our 39 game win streak continue?

11/8: The 9 member Council is in place. We have 5 women, 4 men. The UConn Pres. and Provost are joined by 2 professors, the new head of the employees union, a doctoral student, 2 undergrad students, and a cafeteria worker. It seems like a dedicated group.

At the national level they’re going for another Constitutional Convention. Word is that security will be incredibly tight when they convene, in February. Our Council will send a representative. Not sure whether it will be one of the 9 or not.

11/17: 1-0, an easy win over Temple at home. Heading for the Hawaiian Shootout vs. #8 seed Baylor, 1-1. We’re the #1 seed.

11/18: 91-66. 18, 10, 6 for C Lou Cast, 19, 8 for PF Cris Cofe, 14, 6 for SF Ken Litt. +27 RBs, +10 TOs.

#5 seed Oregon, 1-1, in the semis.

11/19: 92-64. 30, 9 for Cofe, 25, 9, 5 for Cast, 11, 5, 11 for PG Greg Joht. +11 RBs.

#2 seed, #12 ranked Gonzaga, 2-0, in the final.

11/20: 89-59. 26, 11 for tourney MOP Lou Cast. 16, 8 for Cofe. 11 more assists for Joht.

Ranked #1 before the game.

All 4 recruits sign.

The Council announced that Professor Elma Lorraine, from the history department, and a member of the Council, will represent us at the Constitutional Convention. She will be placed on leave from her duties at UConn from Feb. 1 until the Convention adjourns.

12/4: 8-0, #1, RPI #2. C Lou Cast leads us with 22.0, 11.4 but we have LOTS of weapons. Most of the scoring is done inside but our guards are moving the ball really well,
10.1 TOs per game, #2 in the nation.

5 of our 8 wins have been against ranked teams.

12/25: 11-0, #1, RPI #1. +25.3 PPG (#5, #3), +15.3 RBs (#1), +5.0 TOs (#4). I question our being #5 in PPG when I devote so little time to offense during practice. 5 min. on each of my two main offenses (Motion and Princeton), and 5 min. on each of the three zone offenses. All the rest of my practice time is devoted to defense.

1/1/2131: 13-0, 2-0. #1.

1/15: 17-0, 6-0. Cruising along.

1/29: 21-0, 10-0, #1. #1.

2/1: Professor Elma Lorraine heads to the Constitutional Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

2/12: 25-0, 14-0. #1, #1. No real challenge to us.

2/26: We end the regular season at 29-0, 18-0, #1, #1. We win the Big Ten by 4 games. 68 wins in a row. +24.9 PPG (#1, #3), +18.3 RBs (#1), +5.3 TOs (#1).

Professor Lorraine says the first big battle is over which powers will go to the federal government and which to the local governments. Big battle, apparently.

3/5: Ouch! Cris Cofe, Bob Evan, and Will Jank all declare for the NBA draft. We’re going to have only three bigs on the team next season.

Lou Cast is #4 on the Norton list.

3/7: We play #8 seed Indiana, 17-13, 8-10, in the quarter finals. We won by 30 there.

3/8: 78-50. Never close. 17, 8 for Cofe, 16, 9, 4 for Joht, 15, 9 for Cast. +22 RBs, 7 TOs (+11).

#4 seed Illinois, 19-9, 11-7, in the semis. Beat them by 18 and 17.

3/9: 86-65. No challenge. 21, 12, 4 for Cast, 18, 6 for Litt, 4 others with 10 or more. +19 RBs, 11 TOs.

#3 seed, #9 ranked Ohio ST, 26-5, 14-4, for the title. Beat them by 22 at home.

3/10: 89-50. Wow! We were amazing tonight! 20, 6 for Cofe, 18, 4 for #3 guard Dan Wilx. +25 RBs, 11 TOs.

32-0, 18-0, #1, #1. We expect to be #1 overall.

Professor Lorraine reports that the Convention is leaning toward a European style government rather than the model that was in place in the U. S. a century ago, before everything changed.

3/12: #1 East and overall. Not an easy bracket but we feel we can win the title if we play our game. Still, one bad night and out.

We play #16 seed Jackson ST, 16-15.

3/16: 92-60. 25, 14 for both Cast and Litt. +31 RBs, 11 TOs.

#8 seed Georgetown, 20-11 in round 2.

3/18: 91-65. 19, 10 for Cast, 20, 5, 3 for Litt, 17, 9, 3 for Cofe, 17, 3, 6 for Joht. +24 RBs but a lousy 16 TOs.

#4 seed, #16 ranked Kentucky, 24-9 in the Sweet Sixteen. They’re strong outside but I don’t think they can compete inside.

3/23: 79-56. It was a one point game at the half. I changed a couple of things and we controlled the 2nd half. 25, 11 for Cofe, 17, 7 for Cast. +10 Rbs, +10 TOs.

#2 seed, #6 ranked New Mexico, 30-5, in the Elite Eight. We beat them by 27 there during the regular season.

3/25: 84-55. 16, 4, 10 for Joht, 14, 10 for Cofe, 14 for Wilx. +18 RBs, 9 TOs.

Back in the Final Four. We play #2 seed, #13 ranked Clemson, 29-6. They have a good inside game, but not as good as ours.

4/1: 94-73. 29, 10 for Litt, 19, 8 for Cast, 13, 14 for Cofe. +26 RBs but 16 TOs again.

It’s #11 ranked Charlotte, 28-10, for the title. We beat them by 29 at our place. They definitely have some very good players but if we play our game we’ll win.

4/3: 81-67. We led by as many as 20. A few times they got it down to 2 possessions, but never closer. 23, 12 for Cofe, 20, 9 for Cast, 11, 13 for Litt. 10 assists for Joht.

Back to back undefeated seasons and 77 wins in a row!

4/4: Awards: Cris Cofe was Final Four MOP. Lou Cast is a 1st team All American. I am national COY. In the Big Ten, senior Lou Cast is Def. POY and 1st team along with soph Cris Cofe. Frosh Ken LItt makes the 2nd team.

4/9: Lots of calls. I’m not going anywhere.

(Author’s Note: My recruits for the coming season are #13, #16, #24, #26. I lost points because I did not sign a 5 star recruit. First, I have never paid any attention to stars- wouldn’t know how or where to find how many stars a recruit has. 2nd, if #13 and #16 are not 5 stars, what does it take!)

4/16: My #1 gets a head coaching job.

4/23: I ask for $. I get $80,000 to go to a $500,000 budget!

38-0 and a repeat national title. 77 wins in a row.

Overall, I’m 522-155, .771 in 20 years as a head coach.

Prof. Lorraine says there isn’t much progress being made at the Constitutional Convention.

Well you have passed the UCONN Huskies women’s record win streak of 70 and are now eyeing the UC!A Bruins history making 88 game streak. Congrats on the back to back titles and you have a fun story going on here as well.

5/1: Recruiting class #4. Pre-season #1. Only 10 scholarship athletes. We buy National and International Gold.

6/5: 3 spots for transfers.

6/9: We offer to a PG and a C.

6/12: We get the C.

6/26: 3 scholarships. We want at least 2 bigs.

8/7: 5 on the Norton list: PF Ken Litt is #1, PG Greg Joht is #3, C Whit Dunn is #15, C Matt Fein is #20, PG Carl Jaks is #38.

8/21: We offer to a PG, a PF, and a C.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: We get 2, lose one. We get a PF, #10, a C, #16. Need a guard.

Pre-season NIT vs. Manhattan.

9/25: Got a PG, #22.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the Big Ten.

11/6: 7 man rotation:

Senior Greg Joht starts at PG. Soph Mark Robb, a transfer from Stanford, starts at SG, subs at PG. Juco junior Den Jaax subs at SG.

Frosh Matt Fein starts at SF, subs at PF. Junior Carl Jaks subs at SF.

1/1/2032: 14-0, 2-0. Easy wins against 2 pretty good teams.

1/15: 18-0, 6-0, #1, RPI #1. Win streak at 95. In a 3 way tie for 1st with Michigan and Illinois. Everyone else is at least 3 games back.

1/29: 22-0, 10-0, #1, #1. Ties for 1st with #9 Michigan. 99 wins in a row.

C Whit Dunn is #1, PF Ken Litt #2, and C Matt Fein #25 on the Norton list. We have exactly three big guys on the squad, but they are all amazing!

2/1: 88-65 over Indiana at home. 100 wins in a row!

2/12: 26-0, 14-0. #1, #1. One up on #9 Michigan, 2 up on Illinois. Everyone else is out of it. We beat Michigan by 18 at their place, Illinois by 15 away.

PF Ken Litt is #1, C Whit Dunn #2, and C Matt Fein #20 on the Norton list.

2/26: We end the regular season 30-0, 18-0, #1, #1. We win the Big Ten by 1 over #7 Michigan, 4 or mo0re over the rest. +27.0 PPG (#1, #7), +24.1 RBs (#1), +4.0 TOs (#9).

Win streak is at 107.

Prof. Lorraine says the Convention voted to ban private ownership of guns of any kind. Hunting will be allowed but the hunting rifles will be kept at various locations, some hunting lodges, some police stations… They can be signed out and must be returned at a time agreed upon- usually at the end of the day, but occasionally at the end of a weekend, or a week. The rifles may not be kept for more than a week. The penalties for violating this law are drastic, 5 years in prison for the first offense if found guilty.

Most privately owned guns have been collected by the government, most of them during raids conducted by the fascist government over the years they were in power.

Many people turned their weapons in voluntarily when people started to be executed when the raids discovered guns in their homes. There are undoubtedly still firearms privately held but most people think there aren’t a significant number.

17 states have said they are seceding over this. Many of them were not happy with much of the First Amendment so this is no surprise. The seceding states are: West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska. Several other states, while not seceding, are seriously unhappy- Arizona, Utah, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho.

There is no plan to try to force any of the states to stay. While the concept of statehood was eliminated in the new Constitution, the seceding members consider themselves states, as do a lot of the remaining but unhappy districts.

Rough days ahead, no doubt. The attempt is to try to live together peacefully with open borders, no tariffs... We'll see.

There are a few issues still to be determined by the Convention.

3/5: Ugh! We lose C Whit Dunn, SG Mark Robb, both starters, and guards Dave Wood and Ray Dock to the draft. Not good!

Litt is #1 and Dunn #2 on the Norton list.

3/7: We play #8 seed Purdue, 14-14, 8-10, in the quarters.

3/8: 92-52. Never a game. 33, 9, 4, 4, 5 for Dunn. +24 RBs, +10 TOs.

#4 seed, #21 ranked Wisconsin, 22-8, 11-7, in the semis. We won by only 10 there but by 23 at our place.

3/9: 80-48. Another blowout. 20, 16, 4, 4 blocks for Dunn, 19, 12 for Litt. +28 RBs.

#2 seed, #7 ranked Michigan, 26-4, 17-1, for the title. We won by 18 at their place and we’re heavily favored. But they’re a very good team.

3/10: 94-52. Yet another huge win. 29, 23 for Litt, 20, 16 for Dunn. +38 RBs, 10 TOs.

33-0, #1. We’ll be the #1 overall seed.

3/12: #1 East. We play #16 Charleston Southern, 17-14.

3/16: 104-56. 33, 17 for Litt. +35 RBs, 9 TOs.

#9 seed Providence, 23-8, in the 2nd round.

3/18: 96-81. It wasn’t that close. We were up by 31 with 7:07 left and I pulled my starters. 29, 15 for Dunn, 20, 11 for Witt, 18, 4, 6 for Robb.

#4 seed, #21 ranked New Mexico, 24-9, in the Sweet Sixteen.

3/23: 87-71. They stayed close for 35 minutes. 21, 10 for Litt, 21, 5, 5 for Robb. +24 RBs.

#7 seed Oregon, 24-9, in the Elite Eight. They upset Michigan.

3/25: And the win streak ends at 113, with a gigantic upset, 77-92. They led by as many as 23 early, and by 18 at the half. We never got it closer than 9 after that. 18, 15 for Litt.

I’m shocked! I knew we could lose, but to an unranked team? Wow!

4/3: #10 Duke is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Soph PF Ken Litt is national POY and 1st team All American along with Frosh OY Whit Dunn. I am national COY. In the Big Ten, Litt is POY, Dunn is Frosh OY and they’re both 1st team along with soph SG Mark Robb. Frosh C Matt Fein and senior guard Greg Joht make the 2nd team.

4/23: We ask for a facilities upgrade. No.

36-1, out in the Elite Eight. Overall, I’m 558-156, .782 for 21 seasons.
