Fun and Games

(Editor's note: I missed a post with lots of info. I added it to the post of 1/1/1980)

11/20: 2-0. We looked good but both games were at home vs. weak teams. Still, I like to build a winning “feel” and that can only be done by winning.

All 5 recruits sign.

I’m taking regular trips to Raleigh to learn how to find my way around town. I usually park in one part of town, a different one every time, and then just walk around. I’m starting to get the “itch” again, and I need to know the turf.

12/8: 6-0. All weak teams, most at home, but we’re winning, and forming a winning attitude.

Heading for the Golden ST Classic vs. #4 seed Kent ST, 4-3. We’re the #5 seed.

12/9: 69-61. They were up by 10 early, by 5 at the half. We owned the boards in the 2nd half and that was the difference. +22 RBs, +17 in the 2nd half. 16, 10 for forward Sean Maer, 10, 14 for C Sean Gray, 9, 11, 8 for Jay Crum.

#1 seed LSU, 6-0, in the semis. They’re a huge favorite. They are monsters inside and they can hit the outside shot. We’ll need to be at our very best and then some.

12/10: 50-69. We were in over our heads. Probably does not bode well for ACC play.

12/16: It had been almost a year since I hit anyone, and I was really feeling the urge. Last night I went into a dingy bar in Raleigh where I knew hookers hung out. I was wearing a false beard and my clear glass eyeglasses. Sure enough, one of them approached me. We made the arrangements. As we headed up to the room she used, I told her, trying to appear as shy and embarrassed as I could, that I wanted to do it in the bathroom instead of in her room.

“Sure honey. Whatever turns you on.”

When we got into the bathroom I asked her to face the wall and bend over. When she did I pulled out my knife and stabbed her in the back, killing her instantly,

I’m pretty sure. I wiped off and washed the knife, cleaned up, and left, turning the lock on the inside of the bathroom door.

I walked a couple of blocks, took off the false beard and glasses, and walked to my car and drove home. It felt good to end another life. This is #35.

As I may have said, I have nothing against hookers, male or female. I think it should all be legal. I choose them because they are easy targets. I really want to get more clergymen, politicians, and other villains. I need to start planning for that.

12/25: 9-1, RPI #51. +12.7 PPG (#, #), +9.4 RBs (#), +1.4 TOs (#). We’re turning it over too often. Other than that I’m pretty happy with our play. But the real test is coming. 9 ACC teams are ranked and we play all of them, a couple twice.

1/1/1981: 3 game week. Why do they do that? We went 2-1, with a win against #24. I’ll more than take it. Next week 2 road games vs. ranked teams.

1/15: 12-5, 3-4. Tough conference and 3 of the last 4 were away. Our biggest problem is taking care of the ball. The ACC guards are killing my guys. We’re averaging
15.5 TOs per game. All we can do is ride it out and hope that time and work will help. Honestly though, it might not get a lot better this year. I have some very promising players coming in next season. Anyway, we’ll keep trying.

1/29: 14-7, 5-6, RPI #23. The tough teams never stop. But we’ve beaten a few, including #9 ranked Ga. Tech in our last game. That’s 3 ranked teams we’ve beaten. But we’re in a 2 way tie for 9th, and I doubt we’ll finish much higher than that. 4 ranked in our last 7 games, 3 of those on the road.

I’m not a church person. As I’ve said I believe in a God, and in heaven and hell, and I know I’m going to hell. I mean how could I not? So I don’t pay any attention to church and things religious. But down here people do. I keep my mouth shut about all of that and let it go at that.

But I have my eye on a few preachers. I truly believe that many, maybe most preachers, of all religions, are running a con. Anyway, I’m looking to target some of the worst. I won’t go after the really famous ones. They have bodyguards and are hard to get to. But the ones running a local scam can be had, and I plan on having some of them.

2/12: 15-8, 6-7, RPI #20. 9th in the ACC. 5 to play, 3 of them on the road. Only one against a ranked team but still.

The Reverend Billy Bob Strawmaker runs a church in downtown Raleigh. He attracts quite a crowd, mostly poor people, ALL white people. I’ve gone to his church, disguised in one of my beards and wearing glasses. He preaches the typical evangelical fire and brimstone and we need money- mostly we need money. People jump around in a frenzy. Some “speak in tongues” and others interpret, or the Rev. does when no one else does. There’s praying and singing and hollering and carrying on. Strikes me as just about crazy. But anyway, I did a little checking. Rev. Billy Bob just has this one church. He’s been here for about 15 years. He lives in a really luxurious house and he drives a new Cadillac. His wife (#3) is at least 20 years younger and quite a looker, I guess. She looks like a cheap blond to me, but then I don’t know much about those things.

Rev. Billy Bob doesn’t shy away from his lifestyle. From the pulpit he says it shows “the glorification of the LORD!!! We are doin’ the LORD’S work and if we look like we’re doin’ good that means the LORD is doin’ good.”

The suckers eat it all up, of course, and they dig a little deeper into their wallets.

Anyway, I’ve been thinking about a way to do him. I’d love to find a way to drown him. How fitting would that be, death by “baptism.” Working on it.

2/26: We finish the regular season 18-10, 9-9. I’m thrilled to finish .500 in my first year in the ACC. RPI #25, tied for 7th, #8 seed. If that counts as top half, we’ll hit all of A. D. Tank Holland’s goals for us. We’ll certainly make the NIT, if not the NCAA tournament.

I got the Rev. Billy Bob. It wasn’t early. I started going to his church, in the disguise. I got to know him. I told him I ran a big business in town and wanted to praise the lord because it was doing really well.

He kept wanting to meet with me- wanted to get some money out of me, I’m sure. I told him that I felt most close to the lord out in the woods, away from all the hustle and bustle. He said we should go for a walk in the woods some evening.

On the 23rd of this month we did. I knew of a place. We walked, right up to the edge of a little pond. I pulled two water bottles out of my backpack. One of them was “loaded.” We talked. At a certain point he started to keel over. I knew that as soon as he passed out I was going to drag him out to the center of the pond. The poison would knock him out before killing him so if I acted quickly his lungs would fill with water and it would look like he had drowned.

That’s what I did. I’m sure the autopsy will report that he drowned. If he told anyone he was meeting with Cal Thornley, that’s the alias I used, good luck to anyone trying to find old Cal.

I destroyed the blond wig and fake beard. I’ll go with something black or at least dark brown next time. And yes, there will be a next time!

3/8: We play #9 seed Pitt, 15-12, 8-10, in the play in round. They beat us by 14 at their place and they’re a big favorite to do it again.

3/9: 68-63 in OT. This is only the 2nd or 3rd OT game of my career. We blew a 22 point lead and only got to OT because they missed the front of a 1 and 1 with .4 seconds left. We made up for it by controlling the overtime period. We scored the first 7 points. PG Jay Crum led us with 18 points but he had an awful 14 TOs. C Stu Gray had 15 and 10. We won despite 24 TOs. I’ll take it!

#1 seed, #4 ranked Duke, 23-5, 15-3, in the quarter final round. They won by 20 at their place. They’re a huge favorite. We have the edge at C but they’re better, mostly a lot better, at every other position.

3/10: 69-64. Biggest win of my career and the biggest shock. I never let my players know, of course, but I didn’t think we had a chance. Nevre more than a 9 point differential in the score. With 2:22 left it was tied, and we took it from there. We won it inside with PF Sal Bakk getting 11 and 16, including three key RBs in that last

2:22, and SF/PF Sean Maer had 14 and 12. C Stu Gray had 14 and 6. +12 RBs made up for -10 TOs.

I don’t get excited but I’m pretty pumped up right now. I’m guessing this win gets us into the NCAAs.

#13 seed Louisville, 18-14, 6-12, has racked up 3 straight upsets and we play them in the semifinals. We won by 1 at their place. They’re favored by 2 ½, mosty because of their very solid inside game. But we’re better outside. I’m going to pack it in with a 2-3 zone and hope the long shots go in.

3/11: 71-75. They got out to an early lead and we played catch up most of the night. We took the lead early in the 2nd, and got it to 6 points, but they came back. 17, 5 for SG Wes Wild, 16 each for Maer and Bakk. Stu Gray was out played. Still a good run!

20-11, RPI #25. I think we’re in the big one.

3/12: NCAA! #7 Midwest. We play #10 Iowa ST., 20-11. They’re favored by a ½ point. Their strength is outside so we’ll go with 3-2 and man. IF the bombs are dropping it will be more 3-2.

3/16: 57-46. Maybe the best D we’ve played all year. Held them to 26% shooting, 7-25 on threes. +16 RBs. 14, 14 for Bakk, 8, 14 for Gray. Great win!

#2 seed, #2 ranked Kansas, 30-3, in the 2nd round. Yikes! Their PF is the best player in the country and they are in the top 5 in three pointers made. We’ll play hard; that’s all we can do.

3/18: 57-74. We held the PF in check by double teaming him but the SG and SF hit their shots. We did all we could. No shame in losing to a better team. Great 1st season here at NC ST!

4/3: #3 Michigan ST is the champ.

4/4: Awards: We were shut out. I’m not surprised. What we accomplished, we accomplished through teamwork. We didn’t have a standout player.

4/9: Not expecting to go anywhere.

We hit all of our goals and our TP goes from 45 to 53.

4/23: I ask for money. Attendance was up about 15% over last season so I’m hoping for a yes. $12,400. I’ll take it!

21-12, RPI #24. Great first season! Overall, for 11 seasons, I’m 248-102, .709.

Hoping most of my 5 recruits live up to my high expectations for them.

There aren’t a lot of Catholics down here, mostly Baptists and other evangelicals, you know, Rev. Billy Bob’s people. But my #1 assistant, Alvin Eisley, and his family are Catholic. He mentioned to me that he has his suspicions about the priest where they go to church. Thinks he likes little boys. I’m on it!

Wow what a letdown the tourneys were the last season at Air Force. But a great first season at NC State pulling off that upset of Duke was pretty amazing. Love the new AD name Tank lol, sounds like a big time football guy

Your skipped post indicates that obviously you're too consumed planning your next murder.

Since you're in NC, how about the head of a major tobacco company? They're also in the business of killing people.

DD- It HAD to be Tank. I was amazed at the win over Duke.

PG- Ooh, I LIKE IT!!!! A tobacco company exec will meet his demise. But beware. If I get caught you might get nailed as an accessory before the fact.

I like the tobacco company exec but your so close to the nations capital and all those crooked politicians, isn’t Raleigh the state capital there? Hmmm interesting.....although higher profile hobby targets does potentially raise the stakes of getting caught.

5/1: #27 recruiting class.

6/5: Nobody we want in the transfer pool.

6/26: 4 scholarships. We want 2 and 2.

His name is “Father” Pete. I’ve been watching him from a distance. I have no doubt he goes after little boys. It’s obvious in the way he moves, in the way he eyes them…
There’s something sick about him. You can feel it. Now it’s just a question of how.

7/14: Father Pete likes to take long, solitary walks in the woods around Raleigh. Of course they’re not always solitary. Sometimes he takes a boy with him. I managed to confirm my suspicions yesterday regarding what he does with those boys. I would have done him right then if the boy hadn’t been there.

7/22: Father Pete is no more. He went for a solitary walk earlier this evening. He got a little too close to some tall brush. I leaped out and stabbed him in the chest, right through the heart. I usually don’t do things like this but I cut off his genitals. Bastard. I won’t get any more graphic than that but when he’s found, due to the things I did the police will be sure to think one of his victims, or a close friend or relative of one of his victims, did it.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs, an SF, a C.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: Got an SF, #36, and a PG, #41. Lost 2.

Caribbean Challenge vs. Charlotte.

9/25: We get a PG, #28, and lose one. Need a big guy to complete an awesome recruiting class.

10/2: We lose another one.

1st day of practice. We’re picked 11th in the ACC. Frankly, we’re not as good as we were last year and we are beyond thin up front. I think next season could be break out for us but getting through this season may be a challenge.

11/6: 7 man rotation. If we stay healthy we might get by but injuries will kill us:

Soph Jay Crum is back at PG. Soph Mo Wall starts at SG, subs at PG. Frosh Greg Mack subs at SG.

Senior Fran Brax is at SF. Soph Jon Wats is at PF. Juco junior Mike Newn is at C. Frosh Don Jord subs at all three inside positions.

Coach Eisley tells me that the new guy at his parish seems to be as perverted as Father Pete was. Guess I need to get on his trail. I’m also following one of those “holy
jumper” preachers, Rev. Jimmy John DePew. He's African American and he's running his scam in that community. It's pretty much the same as what Rev. Billy Bob ran.
