Global/Local Control

Global/Local Control

Postby Dermot » Tue Oct 01, 2019 6:01 pm

With regards to Global & Local control in career mode, what are the exact differences here between the two?
Like when it says with Local mode that you can only control activities related to your job while others are AI controlled, what exact things are they talking about?

Additionally in terms of Salary Cap & Min/Max, 60+,70+ etc etc. These numbers at default, are these the recommended ones to start with or are there others people have found work/mimic the real NFL better? I'm just a little wary about starting a career mode and then being a few seasons in and the contracts/salaries might be off.

You can adjust salaries in the options/config page if necessary, but we find the defaults work reasonably well.

Global is you have control over all things, playbooks coaches, strategy, etc. and you can hire yourself as coach if you wish.
Local means you're not in control of coaching and can be fired, move on to other teams once your contract expires or you get fired, etc.

Appreciate the reply!. One additional question I have when creating a player is you have your three categories (Management, Personality & Scouting figures). I'm looking to start a long term save but I don't want it to begin with everything's at 10 or 1's. Do these stats change over your career/length/save? What would be adequate starting numbers that make the game challenging but not too easy/hard? All 5's?

I don't believe the ratings change... at least I'm not seeing it in the code. Scores of 5 should be fine for most cases.
