The only way to get replacement players would be to put a player on IR and then sign a free agent or pull someone up from practice squad.
We can look at active/inactive flags in a future version but it's not going to do a whole lot other than prevent them from playing (and if they're injured they wouldn't play anyway?).

Basically you can only have 46 (used to be 45) active players on game day and 7 inactive to make up the 53 roster limit. The 10 practice players don't count towards the 53. So if someone gets hurt for a game or more they are moved to the 7 inactive and the rosters are shuffled around to make sure there is enough depth. Sometimes borderline players have be cut because they be belong to a position that has good depth but the injury caused a shortfall in another area which is either filled by a practice player or a new free agent signing. DDPF doesn't have this at all and just goes with 53 active players and you have to assume injured players are not played and depth positions are shuffled around to fill needs during the game as needed I guess.
