5/1: #47 recruiting class.

6/5: Looking at transfers.

6/15: No luck.

I have put something sort of resembling a fail safe in place. Not totally confident in it. But there's a lot that's done more easily in the holo and I need the socialization. I went in today and spent time with Mal, and then with all of my friends. It was good. We're going to hike this weekend.

6/26: 4 scholarships. We'll either go 2 and 2 or with 3 guards.

8/7: PG Gene Grif is #50 on the Norton list.

I've been spending a lot of time with Mal and my friends and I feel much better. Getting lots of work done, too.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs, a PF, and a C.

9/18: Got 2, lost one. Got a PF, #63, and a PG, #278.

Going to the Hoops Tourney vs. Providence.

9/25: We get a C, #84. Still chasing a PG.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We're picked to finish 5th in the SEC. I expect to do better than that.

11/1: Still very busy and still making time for Mal and my friends.

11/15: Season starts tomorrow.

11/16: 87-65 over Charleston here. 12, 16, 6 for Hamp. 7 players with 10 or more. +22 RBs, 10 TOs.

11/19: 79-68 over Colorado ST. 16 for PG Gene Grif, 12, 9 for Hamp. 7 TOs.

11/20: Our 3 recruits sign. Still chasing a 4th, a C. We wanted another guard but no luck.

11/23: 79-63 over Eastern Michigan here. 17, 7 for Hamp. All 5 starters had 10 or more. +9 RBs, 12 TOs.

I'm starting to think I really need to move on after this season. I certainly don't have a lock on the SEC but I think I've gotten about as far as I'm likely to get here. Hope
I get an offer from a top school. Spring's a long way off.

11/26: 67-70 at Navy. We lost it on a halfcourt shot but we should never have been in that position. This is a team we should have beaten.

11/30: 73-64 over Baylor here. 20, 12 for Hamp, 14, 12 for Spen. +15 RBs.

12/3: 69-64 at Monmouth. WE led all the way but they kept it close. 21, 6, 3 for Hamp, 16 for Eloi. -7 RBs but 10 TOs.

5-1, RPI #42.

I passed out at a work site today. No warning. Didn't know it had happened until I woke up. I stopped work, came back to the dome, and got examined by a holo doctor. They couldn't find a reason.

12/7: 71-51 over Dayton here. 20, 6, 4 for SF Jim Roma, 10, 9 for Hamp. 8 TOs.

Hamp hurt his hip. He should be okay for our next game.

A week off.

Feeling really tired lately.

12/14: 58-68 to #24 Gonzaga here. We shot 37.7%, 2-18 on threes. 20, 9 for Hamp and no one else did anything. -4 RBs. Not a good night.

Another week off between games.

Still tired, light headed, dizzy. The holo docs have run tests but they can't find a reason.

12/21: 75-65 over Kent ST here. They led by 13 early. We got it to 3 at the half and took control in the 2nd. 25, 8, 3 for Hamp, 12, 9, 5 for Roma.

Off to the Hoops tourney. We're the #5 seed. We play #4 Providence, 6-5.

12/23: 69-46. 21, 8, 4 for Roma, 14, 11 for Hamp. +11 RBs, 11 TOs. We never trailed.

#1 seed Duke, 8-1, in the semis.

12/24: 89-49. This is not the typical Duke team but still... 18, 8, 4 for Hamp, 21 for Spen, 15, 5 for Eloi. +15 RBs.

#6 seed Penn ST, 6-4, for the title.

12/25: 94-86 and the tourney title. 24 lead changes, 14 ties, but we went on a late run to seal it. 24 for Roma, 22, 3, 5 for Eloi, 14, 7 for Hamp. 10 TOs.

As I was walking off the court I fainted again. No advance warning. Didn't feel more light headed or weaker than normal. I did feel tired, as I have for the past few weeks.

Woke up in the locker room, without any idea of what had happened.

Overnight in the holo hospital. Again nothing is showing up on any tests they're doing and I'm back in the dome and back to work. No idea what this is about.

12/28: 82-55 over Iowa here to end pre-conf play. Easy win. 29, 14, 3 for Hamp, 18, 6 for Spen.

1/1/ 22-32: 11-2, RPI #27. +13.7 PPG, +6.8 RBs, -2.9 TOs (11.8). Hamp leads us with 17.5 and 9.8.

I'm light headed and weak pretty much all the time. Not doing anything that i don't need to do.

1/4: 77-67 at Missouri. We led most of the way. 26, 11 for Hamp, who is really having a good season. 11 TOs.

Ban Spen has the flu. I think he should be okay for our next game.

1/7: 86-72 over South Carolina here. 33, 9 for Hamp, 17, 3, 5 for Eloi.

Stumbling around most of the time. The holo docs still can't find a reason why I feel like this.

1/11: 57-72 at Mississippi. We shot 33.3%, 3-21 on threes. They shot 52.9%. That was the story, pretty much. 15 for Hamp. This is a team we should have beaten.

So tired.

1/14: 92-71 over Texas A & M here. They had a big early lead, 16. We finally woke up. I'm not a screamer but I did a pretty good job of yelling at my guys during the 2nd timeout, about 12 minutes into the game. It woke them up. Yelling is one of those things that i think is only effective if you don't do it very often. 24, 9 for Hamp, 13, 9,
3 for Spen. 7 TOs.

I fainted in my office after the game. I was alone, and I didn't tell anyone or bother to check into the holo hospital. What's the point, they aren't finding anything.

1/18: 78-88 at #25 Auburn. We kept it close until the last couple of minutes. 20 TOs hurt.

I'm fainting a couple times a day. I wake up slumped over my desk or with my head back in my recliner at home. Hasn't happened publicly in a while.

1/21: 74-66 over Vanderbilt here. They kept it close all the way. 10 was our biggest lead. 16, 7 for Hamp, 13, 6 for Spen. +13 RBs.

Grif hurt his wrist. Day to day.

15-4, 4-2, RPI #17. It's early but we're in a 6 way tie for 1st with 4 teams one back and 3 two back.

1/25: 78-68 over a good South Carolina team there. 21 for Eloi, 12, 10 for Hamp.

Eloi and Gwyn both have the flu. They shouldn't miss the next game, hopefully. Good win!

Big game, #5 Florida here, next.

1/26: I fainted at my desk. Not sure when it happened but when I came out of it, it was 2:30 in the morning. Not good.

1/28: 72-61. This should get us ranked. We led all the way, by as many as 17. 18, 8 for Hamp, 12, 11 for Spen. +10 RBs. We really looked good tonight.

2/1: 88-71 over Missouri here. Up 19 at the half. 17, 7, 6 for Eloi, 18, 3 for Hamp.

Slept 14 hours yesterday.

2/4: 67-75 at #20 LSU. They were the better team tonight. 19 for Grif, 11, 14 for Hamp, but they were tough.

Still tied with Mississippi for the lead in the SEC. 5 teams one game back, 4 more 2 back. 8 to play.

2/6: Ranked for the 1st time this season, #25.

2/8: 83-64 over Alabama here at home. 55-30 at the half. 15, 6 for Hamp. All 5 starters had 12 or more.

Alone in 1st but 4 teams are 1 back.

2/11: 53-61 at Tennessee. The road is never easy. 18-42 at the half. I actually used every one of my time outs in the first half but nothing got us going. We played well in the 2nd half but it was too late. Not a good night.

19-6, 8-4, in a 4 way tie for first. #24, RPI #17. The schedule for the last 6 games is not bad. We have a shot at winning the SEC.

I'm still fainting regularly and feeling like crap all the time. Sleeping about 12 hours a day.

2/15: 75-68 over Arkansas here. They're in last place. We didn't play very well. I'll take the win but practice is about to get tougher. We were sloppy and we fouled too much.

2/18: 59-70 at Kentucky. We never showed up tonight.

We're tied for 3rd, 1 back of 1st.

2/22: 97-83 at Mississippi ST. 18, 6 for Hamp, 16, 6, 6 for Roma. 10 TOs.

Tough, tough win. Starting SG Ram Eloi broke his foot and it is a career ending injury for the senior. Cris Gwyn will start, and Lon Mial will get the rest of the minutes.

Haven't fainted in more than a week. Maybe whatever it is has ended. Let's hope.

2/25: 72-75 to Mississippi here. That one hurts. Gwyn lit it up with 19, 3, 4, but only he and Spen, 13, 8, did much of anything. We gave up 14 threes.

In a 3 way tie for 3rd, 2 back of 1st. Not good. We have got to win our last 2.

3/1: 59-69 at Texas A & M. Crap! 37% shooting, 2-14 on threes. 27, 7 for Hamp but he didn't get any help.

In a 3 way tie for 4th.

3/4: 76-63 over #23 Auburn at home. 50-33 at the half. 21, 12 for Gwyn, 16, 17, 4 for Hamp, 16 for Grif.

We end the season in a 3 way tie for 3rd. Disappointing.

22-9, 11-7, RPI #23.

3/8: We play #11 seed Mississippi ST, 16-15, 7-11, in the quarters. Beat them by 14 at our place.

3/9: 69-72. We fell apart a few weeks ago and I guess it just isn't going to turn around. 18, 13 for Hamp, 15 each for Spen and Roma.

Our #3 guard, Lon Mial, sprained a toe early and didn't play much. He may not play again this season; we'll see.

We're in the Big Dance but who knows for how long.

3/12: #8 South. We play #9 seed Miami, 19-11.

3/16: 56-79 to end the most disappointing season of my career. 22 TOs, Hamp fouled out in 22 min.

We lost 4 of our last 5, 5 of our last 7, 6 of our last 9, 7 of our last 11.

4/3: #13 UCLA is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Kel Hamp makes the SEC 1st team.

I'm ready to move if I get a decent offer.

4/9: Moving to Alabama.

4/23: I ask for $. Need it badly.

No.

232-99, .701 after 10 years. On to a new start!

5/1: #37 recruiting class for my new team, Alabama.

5/9: I've been in the holo hospital since 5/2. I fainted and didn't come out of it. I was found at my desk, unconscious and taken to the hospital. I didn't wake up until yesterday. Tests now are showing a brain tumor. Surgery will be tomorrow.

5/11: I'm out ov sergury. Evadentally, there are some porcesing porblems in my brian that may or may not be resloved in tiem.

6/5: Lokking at transfres.

6/16: We get an SF.

6/26: 4 scholrashpis. We'll try fro 2 and 2.

8/7: Feling more like myslef.

11/9: 6 month checkup after brain surgery. Holo doc says I'm 99-100% recovered. He says the chance of a recurrence is slight, but it's possible.

11/15: 1st game tomorrow. Senior Jon Mora is at PG, junior Bret Lews at SG.Soph Ron Will is the #3 guard and frosh Dan Pugh #4. Junior Ben Gray is at SF, senior Key Holt at PF, and senior Kam Murt at C. Soph Chan Walk is the 1st big man off the bench and frosh Rah Wili is 2nd.

A year ago today I got locked in the holo and was stuck there for months. I stayed out today!

11/16: 70-65 over Green Bay. 18, 12 for Murt at C, 18, 4 for Gray. 9 TOs. We led most of the way but it stayed close.

11/19: 79-64 over Rhode Island here. Murt, 18, 4, 3 for Bret Lews at SG, 12, 15 for Key Holt at PF. +15 RBs.

Lews hurt his leg. He may or may not miss our next game.

11/20: Our 3 recruits sign. Still chasing a PG.

11/23: 77-63 over Buffalo here at home. Close for 30 min. 16, 10 for Murt, 16 for Lews. +17 RBs.

11/26: 73-60 over Cal Poly here at the Coliseum. 24 for Lews, 18, 3, 5 for More, 10, 13 for Murt. +15 RBs.

We're not playing the strongest teams but I like the way we're playing except for ball handling.

I'm feeling good. No excessive fatigue, plenty of energy. And no fainting. I'm not quite back to full time but I'm working 6 hour days, 6 days a week on construction, as well as coaching. Haven't met with Mal or my friends in a long time but thinking about it.

11/30: 92-60 over Seattle at our place. Never a game. 28, 2, 7 for Lews, 17, 4, 8 for More, 14, 10 for Murt, 15, 8, 5 for Gray. +22 RBs.

Construction is years behind schedule. If things stay as they are we'll probably have housing for about half of the 50,000 people expected to arrive in 2246. But housing for the rest should proceed quickly once they're here, given that we can put unlimited crews out there since there will be plenty of supervisors.

12/3: 75-55 in our first road game at Army. Up 18 at the half. 23, 7, 4 for Lews, 12, 13 for Murt. +21 RBs. Lews and Murt are our go to guys. When they're on we're hard to beat.

6-0, RPI #17.

12/7: 76-57 over Bradley here. 14, 10 for Murt, 11, 3, 11 for More, the other three starters had 12, 13, and 14. +17 RBs, 11 TOs.

We've been incredibly consistent, scoring between 70-79 in every game except one, and giving up between 55 and 65. Again, we're not playing world beaters.

Off to the Sunshine Shootout vs. #4 seed Iowa, 5-1. We're #5. This is our biggest challenge so far.

12/9: 63-83. Ouch! We were never in it. 19 TOs, 36.2% shooting. 13, 13 for Murt but he stood alone. This doesn't bode well for SEC play.

12/14: 72-65 over George Washington here. We led all the way, by as many as 18. 22, 7, 5 for Lews, 10, 8 for Murt, 12, 6, 4 for Gray. +11 RBs.

Last 2 pre-conf games are away. A week off 'til the first, then another week off until the second.

12/21: 71-60 at Chicago ST. 25, 3, 4 for Lews, 16, 9 for Murt, 12, 6, 5 for Gray, 10, 10 for Holt.

12/28: 65-63 at Hartford! Whew! They doubled Lews all night long and shut him down. It damn near worked! 5 lead changes or ties in the last minute. We had it last, got it to Murt. He got fouled with 0.4 left and hit both. 10, 12 for Holt, 15, 8 for Murt, 12, 7 for Gray. 8 TOs.

1/1/2233: 10-1, RPI #18. +10.7 PPG, +11.7 RBs, +2.1 TOs (14.9- awful). Lews leads us with 17.5 PPG. Murt gets 14.3 and 10.5 RBs. More gets 4.3 assists.

Things have been going smoothly. I'm spending weekends in the holo, hiking or on the boat, mostly.
