Finance aspect of the game still broken

Finance aspect of the game still broken

I played during the beta period and the moderator replied numerous time that it was the beta and thing would resolve before launching the final product. Unfortunately, the finance aspect is still broken imo.

If one change the default finance setting of a new game, you will encounter many problems in the long run :
Best players won't be signed by any team even if they have cap space
Best players 80ov. and 90ov. + will be released before the beginning of a new season
You can pick all the best players just before the start of the season at a minimal price

If one choose the default financial settings, you will still encounter these problems :
Teams signing additional K and P before training camp and dumping them the next week
G and T 95ov. signing max contract while RB and QB 90 to 95ov. signing for a lot less. Some positions should be a lot more lucrative by default and this has not been resolved yet. QB should make at least 50% more than any other position. This is the most important position in the game and this is not well represented.
Top statistic offensive and defensive players asking contract in relation to overall and not statistics. I argue in another post that some 60ov. and 70.ov defensive players always have the best stats in the league. While this is true, these guys still ask for ridiculously low wages.

To be honest, we all play the game for different reasons. I personally play to manage the finance aspect and feel like I manage a NFL team. However, the statistic aspect and financial aspect are subpar at lunch. I am not writing this to make the dev. feel bad but to show that some core mechanics are not working even with the full product available.

Take care.

At this point we're happy with how things are working. The AI could definitely be improved to make sure they're roster building better, but right now there are multiple aspects of finances that are impacting these decisions. Sometimes the CPU favors young guys with long term contracts versus older veterans with high short term contracts and so they'll drop a higher OVR player to get under cap or for roster spots at other positions. They also don't look at just OVR, they look at skills, age, experience, coach personas, etc. Having rules in the game like QB's must be 50% more than any other position won't work with the model we use. We'd have to completely rebuild the financial model (and make a LOT more options) in order to accommodate these kinds of requests since not everyone will agree with just a single model. Unfortunately it's not something we can address with a simple patch, it will have to wait for a future version and we'll let the community help us prioritize this feature against other asks that we receive.

I appreciate the reply, thanks.

I didn't know that some CPU have different strategies regarding management. I though they were all brainless haha.
Knowing this, I suggest something similar to SI : EHM. Having a simple line of dialogue in the finance section and trading section explaining which strategy employs each team.
Set team needs :
Looking to rebuild through draft...
Looking to strengthen little by little...
Looking to build for the playoff...
Etc...

You might not look into it for PF2021, but I'm suggesting this for the long run.
Thanks again.

One last thing!
Are you suggesting to not tempered with default finance since it does create problems?

Thank you again.

The finances should scale fine as long as you keep them all balanced. It doesn't work well to have a max salary of 50 mil with a 200mil cap since it scales everyone up to that level and not just QB's. So I would try and keep the proportions similar.

A great overall job was done for version '21. A hugh step forward in the DDSPF francaise!
I now hope that in the future the finance and the injury system will seriously revised and deepened.
