1st down stops

1st down stops

In the CSFL we are seeing a lot of first down stops (where the player blows a coverage or make a long run and is chased down and stopped automatically at the 1 yard line).

Would it be possible to check if we have messed up something on the setting side or if it is coded into the game?

I haven't been able to duplicate this issue. Players do slow down on long runs, especially if they have lower endurance, but there isn't anything in the code that auto-stops them at the 1.

No worries I wil take a look tomorrow and post some screenshots in here we have hundreds of examples I can share.

Examples we have seen (there are plenty more this is just one team)

30 yd pass by JAX to the 1 https://championsimleague.com/football/ ... ml?id=1567 2:08 3Q
66 yd rush by CAR to the 1 https://championsimleague.com/football/ ... ml?id=1309 10:03 3Q (this play also took 90 seconds off the clock somehow)
72 yd pick return by NO to the 1 https://championsimleague.com/football/ ... ml?id=1306 1:46 2Q

that's just from 8 games of one team (preseason/reg season) this year

I found the issue with returns... normal plays are a completely different spot of the code. I ran through a season, checking gains of 30 yards or more, and I'm only getting around 20 stops at the 1-2 yard line for the entire season (16 games + preseason).

So a few for another team we have seen I think looking at plus 30 yard plays is not the right move either as we see it in all yardage situations on a broken route

I will have a further look over the coming few days but I think we are still seeing a lot of plays auto stopped at the 1 yard line on average.

3 examples in this game with passes under the 30 yard which resulted in stops at the 1 yard line despite nobody being near the player for most of the play.

I'm not sure what else I can do on this. I've simmed and watched several games and plays just don't auto-stop on the 1. Every time I've seen it a guy was tackled on the 1 by a defender. If you find a game where players are running down the field and then just stop at the 1 and the play ends let me know, but I haven't been able to capture that once, much less find it happening hundreds of times.
