2/20: We're in a 3 way tie for third, 1 back of 2nd, 1 back of Georgetown in 1st.

Next is our last “easy” game, here against 12-14, 4-9 Seton Hall. We won by 8 there.

2/21: It's close early. Down 1 after 10. We need this game! Down 3 at the half. Up 10 with 10 left; maybe we finally woke up.

84-67. We played very well late in the game. +20 for the 2nd half.

22, 9, 5, 3 blocks for Craw. 16, 9, 2, 3 steals, 5 blocks for Dunk. 14, 6 for Hosi.

+13 RBs. +18 in the paint.

The Wixx want us gone.

“It has become evident that you do not plan to bond with us and become our lifelong brothers and sisters. It is time for you to leave us.”

We tried to discuss it with them but they were adamant. We leave in the morning.

2/23: At #10 ranked, 21-6, 10-4 Villanova, tied with us in 3rd place. They won by 1 at our place, in a very competitive game. The odds makers have it dead even, but they have the home court advantage. On paper I think we look a little better but we'd better play our best game. Their C is excellent and they can score outside.

2/24: It's a battle early. Tied after 10. Up 3 at the half. Balanced scoring. +5 RBs, too many TOs. +8% shooting, +6 at the line. Up 5 with 10 to go.

74-86. We just fell apart late; this one could have been won.

17, 9 for Dunk. Their bench won it, 34, 12, 5 to our 11, 9, 5.

+10 RBs but a horrific 27 TOs to 15.

We never did find out what's going on with the unexplored areas of Wixx territory.

“Jed, you look so tired.”

“I am, Hali; it's been insane. Same for you though. You've got to be as tired as I am.”

“Yes. Getting away from the Wixx should help.”

“Let's hope so.”

2/27: Tied for 4th with one left, against #2 ranked Georgetown, 26-4, 12-3, tied for 1st in the conf. They won by 5 there. Their SF is an All American. They've got a big edge outside but we're better inside. We need this one but it won't be easy...

2/28: Down 10 after 10. Not good! Down only 1 at the half. 14, 8 for Craw, 12, 4 for Dunk. We're containing their SF but their PG is killing us. +5 RBs 5 more TOs. Edge inside. Down 11 with 10 to play.

86-105. The D was embarrassingly poor, especially in the 2nd half. 24, 13 for Craw, 24, 9 for Dunk. Buck had 15 points and 7 assists but an awful 10 TOs.

+9 RBs but 22 TOs, 49 in our last 2 games; pathetic. They won it at the line, pretty much taking 20 more shots there.

Starting PG Kev Buck hurt his hand. He's day to day.

3/5: We end the regular season at 24-7, 10-6, tied for 5th place in the Big East. Disappointing, really.

+13.9 PPG, +7.1 RBs, 5 fewer TOs but 12.3 is too high.

Dunk leads us with 17.5 and 9.1. Craw is 2nd in both with 16.2, 8.8. Buck gets 6.4 assists but 4.1 TOs.

Ari Fox, a frosh who averages 1.4 minutes per game, declares for the draft. He had potential.

3/8: We play last place Xavier, 11-18, 3-13 in the play in round. We won by 16 there. This is one we should win.

3/9: We come out of the gate like turtles. Then we wake up. Ahead by 13 after 10. Up 11 at the half. 12 for Buck, 9, 8 for Dunk. +10 RBs, good shooting, good bench play. Up 12 with 10 left.

84-69. We played well late. 20, 12 for Dunk, 18, 5, 3, 5 steals for Craw, 14, 2, 5 for Buck.

+16 RBs, 10 TOs. +12 in the paint. Good shooting, good bench play.

Hali and I have had a chance to relax some over the past few days. I'm starting to feel like myself again.

3/10: Tough matchup later today in the quarter finals. We face #10 ranked, #4 seed Villanova, 22-7, 11-5. They beat us by 1 at our place and 12 at theirs. We're actually favored by a half point. Statistically this one is very close, but we need to play better than we have against them.

Game time: Good start! Up 14 after 10. 49-32 at the half. We're firing on all cylinders! 18, 6 for Dunk, 12, 2, 4 for Buck. Craw was in foul trouble throughout and wound up the half with 3. +8 RBs only 3 TOs. +18% shooting. +10 in the paint.

“Don't let up!”

Up 20 with 10 to go.

94-76. “THIS is what 40 minutes olf solid basketball looks like!”

23, 6, 3 for SG Aldo Doli, probably his best game ever. 21, 7 for Dunk, 16, 9, 8 for Buck. Good bench play.

+18 RBs, +15% shooting. Really great win against a very good team!

3/11: Our reward is to play the #1 seed, #19 ranked Marquette, 23-8, 13-3. We won by 20 at their place. They have a very good PG; we think we're as good or better everywhere else. We can beat these guys if we play well but they've been hot lately.

Game time: Good start but they come back. Down 5 after 10. Down 1 at the half. 13, 3 for Craw, 10 for Dunk, but their PG is hurting us badly. 11 TOs!

“How bad do you want it?”

Down 4 with 10 to go.

87-98. We faded at the end. 18 each for Dunk and Craw but our guards got beat up. We had no answers for their PG.

The excitement for the new dining halls is building as we're about three weeks from the opening.

3/12: Georgetown crushed Marquette by 20 for the title.

#2 South. We play #15 Texas-Rio Grande, 21-11. They have a good outside game but they haven't playhed anybody.

3/17: Early lead. Up 9 after 10. Up 16 at the break. Great D so far. 13, 11 for Dunk. +11 RBs. Holding them to 23.9%. Up 24 with 10 to go.

78-38. Held them to less than a point a minute.

24, 16, 6 blocks for Dunk, 14, 3, 3 for Buck. +17 RBs, 9 TOs. +32 in the paint. They shot 27.5%.

It's about to get tougher.

#10 seed Arizona, 23-10, in the 2nd round. They have a strong backcourt. 0-3 vs. ranked teams.Off year for them.

3/19: Down early. We're flat. Down 8 after 10. Tied at the half; we were down as many as 9. 12, 4 for Dunk, 9, 4 for Doli, 8, 5 for Hosi. But Dunk has 3 fouls. 3 TOs, +8 inside. They're outshooting us but we're taking more shots. +7 from the line. They're backcourt looks good!

“You need to win to keep playing.”

Up 8 with 10 to play.

90-79. We finished well. 22, 8 for Dunk, 19, 5, 4 for Doli, 11, 10, 4, 6 steals for Craw, 11, 3, 7 for Buck, 11, 6 for Hosi.

7 TOs to 21. We won it at the line, 28-12. +12 in the paint.

Things remain quiet on board.

3/20: “And another thing. This damn top down leadership is just wrong. We need more surveys in order to find out what the people want!”

“Mick, calm down. Yes, surveys are a good idea. Let's think about what kinds of things we need information about. Thoughts?”

“Well I think-”

“Other people's thoughts. We'll get to you in a minute, Mick.”

“Let's think about the things we can change. Not a lot, really. Yes, the food, and we're changing that. Follow up surveys regarding how successful the changes are will be good, but that's for later.”

“Holo chambers.”

“What about them?”

“What programs do people want that we don't already have? Do people think we have enough holos? Are they located in the right places?”

“Good thought!”

“Work. Are we working people too many hours? Is the work challenging enough? Does everyone need to work in view of robotic help?”

“Some great ideas. Jed, you and Hali do some work on this and report back to the Council.”

3/23: #6 seed, #20 ranked UCLA, 26-8, in the Sweet Sixteen. The odds makers have this rated a toss up. They're very good outside and we're better inside. We score 11 more a game but give up 6 more. They've only played ranked teams twice, both at home, and they won both. We need to play hard!

3/24: Early lead. Up 8 after 10. Up 6 at the break. 10 each for Craw and Doli, 6, 10, 2, 4 for Dunk. +5 RBs, 6 fewer TOs. +8 at the line.

They're outshooting us from the floor. Up 12 with 10 left.

87-70. Great win! 24, 10 for Craw, 15, 17, 2, 4 steals, 3 blocks for Dunk. 16, 5, 3 for Doli, 14, 1, 6 for Buck.

+13 RBs10 TOs to 19. +21 at the line, +12 inside.

The menu for the first day in the Indian and Chinese dining halls was posted today. They open in a week.

3/25: #1 seed, #3 ranked Gonzaga, 33-2, in the Elite 8. They're a 2.5 point favorite. As usual for us it's their outside vs. our inside. We'll need to dominate inside and play good D to have a shot at this one.

3/26: We take an early lead. Up 12 after 10. Up 9 at the half. 12 for Buck. Craw has 3 fouls, as does Doli. Very sloppy game; both teams have 12 TOs at the half. We're shooting better and playing better inside. At least to this point we're matching their guards and bench play is about even. Up 9 with 10 to go.

82-63 and the Final Four! 18, 6 for Dunk, 17, 4, 4 for Buck. 14, 7, 5, 4 steals for Rude. +9 from the bench.

10 fewer TOs but we had 18. +9 from the line. +10 in the paint.
