UFL Week 3: Stampede Stun Renegades Late, Steal 10-9 Victory over Dallas

April 11, 2025

Oklahoma City, OK - The Dallas Renegades suffered their first loss of the season in a nail-biting game that came down to the wire, with a 10-9 defeat against Oklahoma City at Protective Stadium on Friday. The Renegades came out with high energy and aggression, making an early statement on Oklahoma City's opening drive. Facing a potential three-and-out, Stampede QB Matt Corral was picked off by Renegades DB Joe Powell, his first interception of the season. A costly 12-men-on-the-field penalty against Oklahoma City extended Dallas' first offensive drive, ultimately setting up K Lucas Havrisik for a 27-yard field goal to put the Renegades on the board first. The defense kept their foot on the gas. With the Stampede threatening deep in Renegades territory, DB Miles Dorn knocked the ball loose at the goal line, and DB Ajene Harris recovered it in the endzone for a touchback. Once again, stalling another Oklahoma City drive. In the second quarter, Havrisik added on two more field goals- one from 32 yards and another from 20- capping off a drive that featured an 18-yard burst from RB Dae Dae Hunter and a 26-yard grab by TE Sal Cannella. The Renegades took a 9-0 lead into the break.

Despite two first-half takeaways and dominant field position, Dallas was held out of the endzone, thanks to a resilient Stampede red zone defense. Still, the Renegades defense was the story of the half, holding Oklahoma City scoreless through four drives, forcing two turnovers and two punts. Oklahoma City got on the board early in the third quarter with a 42-yard field goal to trim the lead to 9-3. From there, defensive pressure from both teams took over, with drives stalling on both sides and offense hard to come by. Momentum shifted again early in the fourth quarter when LB Kyahva Tezino forced a fumble, breathing life into the Stampede's offense. They slowly moved the ball down the field, but the Renegades stood tall, forcing a turnover on downs after a fourth-down stop. After many costly penalties and official reviews in the fourth, with just 26 seconds remaining in regulation, the Stampede struck. Corral connected with WR Cade Johnson for the game's only touchdown. Corral followed it up by scrambling in for a successful one-point conversion, giving Oklahoma City a 10-9 lead. The Renegades had one final chance to respond but were stopped on a desperation lateral attempt as time expired.

UFL Week 3: Defense Shines as Roughnecks Get First Win of the Season, 18-17

April 12, 2025

Salt Lake City, UT - The game saw Salt Lake start out in front, thanks to a 32 yard field goal by K Matt Coghlin on the Showboats' first drive for the 3-0 lead. The Roughnecks offense, much like the first two games of the season, found success early on moving the ball down the field through the legs of QB Anthony Brown and RB Zaquandre White. The Roughnecks finished the game with a season high of 118 yards on the ground. However, the offense still struggled to put points on the board until K Chris Blewitt converted a 36 yard field goal attempt to even the score. It looked as though it would head into halftime that way, until Showboats QB EJ Perry found WR Kwamie Lassiter for the eight yard touchdown score with 37 seconds left in the second quarter. Perry would find Lassiter again for the two-point conversion, and the Showboats would go into halftime with the 11-3 lead.

The Roughnecks came out of the locker room deciding to shake things up. QB Nolan Henderson started the second half for Houston and made an immediate impact on the game, leading a drive down the field that ended in a six yard touchdown pass to WR Emmanuel Butler in the possession of the half. Despite failing to convert the two-point conversion, the Roughnecks showed new life as they made it a 11-9 game. The momentum continued for the away team on the very next possession. Perry's very next pass was intercepted by Roughnecks DB Leon ONeal who returned it 30 yards for the pick six to give Houston its first lead of the season. The Roughnecks defense continued to play lights out, with Perry forcing another pass to be intercepted by Houston DB Keenan Isaac. This resulted in Salt Lake HC Ken Whisenhunt making a change at quarterback and substituting veteran QB Troy Williams for the remainder of the game. Houston extended their lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter, thanks to a Blewitt 28 yard field goal to make it a seven point game. Salt Lake, trying to get back into the game, began a lengthy drive that chewed up 10:10 of the fourth quarter clock and ended with a 4 yard touchdown scramble by Williams. However, the home team couldn't secure the two-point conversion, nor the onside conversion and the Houston Roughnecks were able to secure their first win in almost a calendar year, with a final score of 18-17.

UFL Week 3: Potter Kicks Game Winner for Panthers in 26-23 Win

April 13, 2025

Detroit, MI - The Detroit Panthers got right at home with a 26-23 win over the Munich Ravens. K BT Potter played hero for the Panthers with a 28-yard game-winning field goal with 51 seconds remaining. Detroit's ground game produced three rushing touchdowns, two from QB Bryce Perkins and an explosive 43-yard scamper by RB Jaden Shirden. Detroit scored 17 unanswered points between the second and third quarters on their way to the victory at Ford Field. The back-and-forth affair was deadlocked at 23-23 with 4:46 remaining in the game. After the Ravens game-tying two-point conversion following an interception return for a score, WR Devin Ross took the ensuing kickoff return 49 yards to Munich's 46-yard line. That return put the Panthers in a prime position to set up the eventual Potter game winner. The Ravens sent out K Donald De La Haye to kick a 53-yard field goal to tie the game and send it into overtime, but the kick sailed wide left with Detroit holding on for the win.

Down 9-0 in the second quarter, Perkins led Detroit to 10 unanswered points to capture the lead heading into intermission. Perkins called his own number with a two-yard rushing touchdown to put the Panthers on the board. Perkins also ran in the one-point conversion for a successful attempt. Potter nailed a 34-yard field goal as time expired for the halftime lead. Danny Etling, who started the game for Detroit, left the game with a concussion towards the end of the first quarter. Etling was later ruled out for the Panthers. Detroit's defense bent but did not break in the first half, holding the Ravens to three De La Haye field goals. Despite not letting Munich in the endzone, the Panthers went into the intermission down 9-7.

Gambling on fourth-and-three coming out of the break, Perkins completed a 13-yard pass to Ross for the first down. Two plays later, Perkins found WR Malik Turner for 21 yards. After another Turner catch to get inside the five-yard line, Perkins ran in another touchdown. RB Toa Taua ran in the one-point conversion to make the score 17-9 in favor of Detroit. Munich stopped the bleeding with a QB Kellen Mond 15-yard touchdown pass to RB Anthony McFarland. After a too many men penalty on offense, the backed up two-point conversion was unsuccessful. It only took the Panthers two plays to get back in the endzone, as Shirden broke off a 43-yard touchdown run for the first score of his professional career. RB Nate McCrary was stopped on the one-point attempt. Detroit's defense really brought the pressure to Mond when it mattered. LB Frank Ginda came up big with a strip sack on third down midway through the fourth quarter. The Ravens recovered, but they were forced to punt. It was the second sack of the day for the Panthers defense. On the next Detroit offensive drive, Perkins connected with Ross again, this time for a catch-and-run 32-yard gain on third down. Later in the drive, Perkins made his first mistake of the game, throwing an interception to LB Jordan Williams, who returned it 75 yards for the touchdown. The Ravens tied the game with a successful two-point conversion attempt. Detroit took care of business with the Potter game-winning field goal and came out with a much-needed home win against a team they lost to last season.

UFL Week 3: Ta'amu Totals Three Touchdowns, Defense Stands Tall in 27-15 Win over London

April 13, 2025

London, ENGLAND - Behind three scores from QB Jordan Ta'amu and a season-high four turnovers from DC's defense, the Washington Defenders sit atop the UFL with their third-straight win, a 27-15 road victory over the London Crusaders. DC's defense pounced early on their first drive when DL Andre Mintze forced the ball out of QB Manny Wilkins' hands for a fumble and recovered the ball himself to give the Defenders the ball at London's 18-yard line. After three-straight incomplete passes, the Defenders were able to salvage the drive with a 30-yard field goal from K Matt McCrane to give them an early 3-0 lead with 9:06 left in the first quarter. Ta'amu aired it out on DC's second drive when he found a wide open WR Ty Scott on a deep post route for a 62-yard score and a 9-0 lead with 4:23 left in the first quarter. The Defenders' stout defense continued to pour it on when DB Michael Ojemudia picked off Wilkins for his first career interception and placed DC' s offense at London's 33-yard line. McCrane added another three points with a 42-yarder for a 12-0 Defenders lead with less than two minutes left in the first quarter. London countered in the second quarter with a three play, 35-yard drive that was capped off by a 35-yard touchdown reception from WR Frank Darby to set the score at 12-6, Defenders. The Crusaders attempted a two-point conversion, but the play was snuffed out by DL Malik Fisher, who brought down WR Blake Jackson in the backfield. Halfway through the second quarter, London DB Kameron Kelly picked off Ta'amu and the Crusaders chipped away at DC's lead with a 40-yard field goal from K Rodrigo Blankenship to trim the score to 12-9. After the London field goal, Ta'amu led the Defenders on an eight play, 61-yard drive that ended with six points when he found TE Briley Moore-McKinney on a post route for a 10-yard score and an 18-9 lead. WR Chris Rowland helped move the chains on the drive with two receptions that totaled 23 yards. London was able to score the last points of the half with a 47-yard field goal from Blankenship to cut the deficit to 18-12.

The Defenders opened the second half with a drive into London territory, but their momentum was halted when Crusaders DB Chris Payton-Jones picked off Ta'amu, his second turnover of the day. London capitalized on the turnover with a career-long 56-yard boot from Blankenship to pull London within three. Trailing 18-15 with 8:37 left in the game, Wilkins coughed up his second interception of the game with a snag by DB Willie Drew Jr. to give DC a chance to separate themselves from London. Ta'amu did just that and led the Defenders on an impressive 11 play, 62-yard drive that chewed up 6:16 of the game clock. On third and goal, Ta'amu fired a dart that was deflected and landed in the hands of WR Cornell Powell to give the Defenders a 24-15 lead with 2:20 left in the game. In London's last attempt of a rally, DC's defense finished the job when DB Sam Kidd read Wilkins' eyes on an out route and recorded his first career interception to seal the win. In the remaining seconds, McCrane recorded his third-straight game with three or more field goals after splitting the uprights on a 50-yarder to set the final score at 27-15.

Whisenhunt to Step Down from Showboats

April 16, 2025

Salt Lake City, UT - Ken Whisenhunt announced that he is stepping down as head coach of the Salt Lake City Showboats. UFL President Russ Brandon has named Offensive Line Coach Jim Turner, who served as the team's interim head coach earlier this season, as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2025 UFL season. "The time has come for me to step away from the game and take a break from football. I am so grateful for my time with the players and wish them the best," said Whisenhunt.

"We are grateful for Ken's contributions to the UFL as head coach of the Showboats. His passion for the game resonates not only with his players, but the entire league. Ken has been a true professional and our league is better because of the time he spent with the UFL. We are fortunate to have Jim Turner available to immediately take up the head coaching duties for the rest of this season," said Brandon.

UFL Week 4: Panthers Defeat Showboats 27-9, Sweep Season Series

April 18, 2025

Detroit, MI - The Detroit Panthers offense found their rhythm on Friday night at Ford Field, besting the Salt Lake City Showboats 27-9 to complete the season sweep. Four different Panthers found the endzone in the victory on fan appreciation night: Toa Taua, Nate McCrary, Jaylon Moore and Jalen Wydermyer. Perkins completed 15-of-22 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns and added 45 yards on the ground. Detroit's defense shut down the Showboats offensively, holding Salt Lake to 80 passing yards and 70 rushing yards. Panthers' DC Collin Bauer's unit also tallied two sacks, six tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble, three passes defensed and two turnovers on downs.

The game started on a high note on defense for the Panthers, as DL Walter Palmore notched his first sack of the season to turn Salt Lake away to open the game. After Detroit's first drive stalled, a miscommunication on a snapped punt which was fumbled and then blocked by the Showboats gave Salt Lake a starting position at Detroit's 20-yard line. Salt Lake took advantage five plays later with a RB Deneric Prince three-yard rushing touchdown. The Panthers stopped the two-point conversion attempt, keeping the score 6-0. The Panthers tied the game with 19 seconds remaining in the first quarter. RB Toa Taua bowled his way down the field for a 15-yard rushing score and his first professional touchdown. The offense tactfully maneuvered the seven-play, 53-yard drive in just under four minutes. Taua ran in the one-point conversion to give Detroit a one-point lead after 15 minutes. Detroit found paydirt again with 47 seconds remaining before intermission, this time a RB Nate McCary 19-yard rushing touchdown. Perkins hooked up with WR Samson Nacua for the one-point conversion to lead 14-6. Showboats K Matt Coghlin stopped the Detroit run with a 52-yard field goal, ending the half on a positive note for Salt Lake.

Salt Lake looked poised for points early in the third quarter, but DB Arnold Tarpley snatched a would-be completion away for an interception, his second of the season. While the Panthers were unable to take advantage of the takeaway, it changed the momentum in the game. The Panthers defense continued to fly around as DL Ron Stone sacked QB Troy Williams, aided by LB Frank Ginda, to force a Showboats punt. Early in the fourth quarter, facing third-and-nine, Perkins found WR Siaosi Mariner down the sideline for a big gain of 38 yards. It was the longest completion of the season for Perkins. On the very next play, Perkins connected with Moore for a 27-yard touchdown to build a cushion on their lead. McCrary added the one-point conversion to make the score 21-9. The Showboats faced a fourth-and-one on their ensuing drive and needed to go for it, but Detroit's defense stood tall and did not allow QB EJ Perry to reach the line to gain on the quarterback sneak. Perkins threw his second touchdown of the night with a 13-yard pass to TE Jalen Wydermyer, who was making his season debut. The one-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful, but the Panthers had a commanding 27-9 lead. Detroit's defense came up with another turnover on downs, putting the finishing touches on a very dominant night.

UFL Week 4: Crusaders Fall to the Renegades 30-15

April 19, 2025

Dallas, TX - The Dallas Renegades escaped a nail-biter against London Crusaders as the team collected a 30-15 victory at Choctaw Stadium Saturday afternoon. After being held scoreless since the first quarter, the fourth stanza created momentum for the Renegades as their first play series concluded with them adding six points on the board. RB Dae Dae Hunter rushed three yards to put Dallas up 22-15 as a two-point conversion play was unsuccessful. With London at the 3-yard line on a third-and-three situation in the final seconds, a pick six from DB Ajene Harris secured the win for Dallas. A successful two-point conversion rounded out the game as the Renegades scored 14 points in the quarter to outlast the Crusaders. Dallas had a dominant first quarter performance, leading London 16-3 after the game's first 15 minutes. DL Chris Odom put the Renegades up 6-0 within the opening minutes as he crossed the goal line after he recovered a fumble. QB Luis Perez connected with WR Isaiah Winstead for a successful two-point conversion to lead 8-0. The Crusaders converted a 55-yard field goal halfway in the quarter to shorten Dallas' lead to five points. The Renegades defense recovered another fumble from London as DB Carlton Johnson returned the ball to the home team. A 27-yard pass from Perez to TE Sal Canella placed Dallas in a good scoring position before Hunter rushed nine yards to place the team within two yards of the end zone. Dallas' scoring effort in the first quarter ended with a TD catch by WR JaVonta Payton and a successful 2-point conversion pass caught by WR Tyler Vaughns.

In the opening minutes of the second stanza, DB Chris Claybrooks picked off a pass intended for the Crusaders but the Renegades were unable to score any points, only picking up 15 yards in six plays. The Crusaders converted their second field goal to add three points to their score. Dallas would hold a 16-6 lead heading into the half after a 52-yard touchdown pass caught by WR Vaughns was overturned following an offensive holding challenge by London. The Crusaders came back in the third quarter scoring nine points to place them within one point behind the Renegades 16-15 heading into the fourth quarter. London converted another field goal attempt before scoring off an intercepted pass later in the quarter. The Dallas defense stifled the one-point conversion attempt, preventing the Crusaders from tying the game heading into the final quarter and held them scoreless for the remainder of the game.

UFL Week 4: Stampede Outlast Roughnecks for Third Consecutive Win

April 19, 2025

Houston, TX - The Oklahoma City Stampede outlasted the Houston Roughnecks 23-16 inside TDECU Stadium in Houston. QB Case Cookus replaced an injured QB Matt Corral late in the game and led the offense the length of the field, leading to an eventual successful field goal to increase the lead to seven. On the following possession, DB JoJo Tillery intercepted his first pass of the year, icing the game and securing the win for Oklahoma City. "It's always great to win," said Stampede Head Coach Skip Holtz. "We know that they are all going to be a dogfight, and we talk week in and week out about playing a 60-minute game. You can't overlook your opponent, can't look at just their record. Anybody can beat anybody in this league and Houston played extremely well tonight. They fought, and their quarterback did an excellent job coming in when their starter went down. Jalan didn't put the ball in harm's way until the end of the game. We gave up some big plays over the top on defense, but in the end, we played zone to keep the ball in front of us, and JoJo did a great job of making a play on the ball. Offensively, I felt that the first half went well. We were moving the ball a bit and making the routine plays, and that's the main thing we have not done well this year. Once the second half got here, it got a little hairy between reads, throws, turnovers, missed blocks and execution. We need to eliminate the bad plays and make the routine ones. Today, we showed flashes of what we could be, and I thought our team competed for all 60 minutes, and we found a way to win a football game on the road. We want to win one game a week and keep getting better."

Corral left the game late in the fourth quarter with an injury, but put together an efficient offensive performance prior to his early departure. Corral finished the night completing 14-of-25 passes for 195 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Corral was the leading rusher on the night for Oklahoma City, picking up 52 yards on 10 carries. In his relief effort, Cookus went 1-for-2 for 36 yards, with his one lone completion going to WR Davion Davis on third and long late in the fourth quarter to keep an eventual scoring drive alive. The Stampede finished the night with a season-high 126 yards rushing as RB CJ Marable finished the night with 47 yards rushing on 11 attempts. WR Deon Cain led the receiving core, compiling 69 yards on three catches, including a 50-yard touchdown reception. Cain led the team in receptions and receiving yards on Saturday. Davion Davis, Jalen Camp, Jordan Thomas, Rountree and Marable all finished the night with a pair of receptions. Davis hauled in the other receiving touchdown on the night, taking a 26-yard pass to paydirt early in the second quarter.

Oklahoma City's defense continued its stellar play so far this season, LB Kyahva Tezino led the way with 10 total tackles and a tackle for loss on the night. DL Tae Crowder brought down nine total tackles of his own, while DBs AJ Thomas and Chapelle Russell finished with seven total tackles and a tackle for loss each. In total, the Stampede's defense ended the night with eight tackles for loss. DL Bradlee Anae picked up the one lone sack on the night, as Tillery snagged his first interception of the season on the game's final drive. In total, Oklahoma City's defense only allowed 64 rushing yards on the night and forced a crucial turnover on downs after Houston forced an interception in Stallions' territory on the previous possession.

UFL Week 4: Ravens Hold off Defenders, Earn First Win of Season in 24-18 Victory

April 20, 2025

Washington, DC - RB Aidan Robbins rushed for two touchdowns and WR Mathew Sexton returned a punt for a score as the Munich Ravens secured their first win of the season with a 24-18 victory over the previously unbeaten Washington Defenders at Audi Field. The Ravens struck early and fast. Robbins punched in a 2-yard touchdown to cap an 11-play, 76-yard opening drive. Just minutes later, Sexton electrified the game with an 83-yard punt return touchdown, giving Munich a 12-0 lead late in the first quarter. Washington responded with a 39-yard touchdown pass from QB Jordan Ta'amu to TE Briley Moore-McKinney and a pair of field goals from K Matt McCrane to trim the deficit. But Robbins' second rushing touchdown, a 5-yarder in the final minute of the first half, helped the Ravens carry an 18-12 lead into halftime. Ta'amu, who finished 19-of-31 for 300 yards and a touchdown, tied the game midway through the third quarter with a 7-yard rushing score. However, Munich answered immediately, with QB Kellen Mond connecting with WR Greg Ward for a 9-yard touchdown, which proved to be the final score of the game.

Mond went 14-of-20 for 121 yards and a touchdown, avoiding turnovers and taking no sacks. Robbins had 13 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries, while RB Anthony McFarland led all Ravens rushers with 55 yards on 14 attempts. Despite outgaining Munich 409-219 in total offense, Washington was hampered by 13 penalties for 121 yards and a 1-of-3 conversion rate in the red zone. The Ravens defense, led by LB Tavante Beckett's 14 tackles, came up clutch, forcing two fourth-quarter turnovers on downs. UFL Week 4: New UFL CBA Increases Minimum Salary, Roster Size

April 23, 2025

Arlington, TX - The United Football Players Association has ratified a new collective bargaining agreement with the United Football League, ending nearly six months of negotiations, according to union officials. The deal, which is pending final approval from the UFL, is retroactive to the start of training camp, which opened March 2, and will extend through the end of the 2026 season. The new CBA includes an annual raise of $7,005 on the players' minimum salary, from $55,000 to $62,005 for players who participate in all 18 regular-season games, and makes all players eligible for year-round health care, according to a fact sheet produced by the UFPA. The minimum salary for 2026 will be $64,000. "I think this is a reflection of the fact that the UFL and the UFPA ultimately wanted to come together to reach a sustainable deal that will ensure that spring football will be here to stay," said Harry Marino, president of Sports Solidarity and the UFPA's lead negotiator for the CBA. "And as hard-fought as the negotiation was, I think this is turning the page and saying, 'OK, now we're going to work in partnership to make sure this thing lasts and succeeds.'"

The UFL did not immediately comment on the agreement. Labor certainty should lead to more continuity among the player pool, Detroit Panthers QB Danny Etling said. "It's good not only for the league investors, but just for the league in general to give it some stability," Etling said. "So then we're not in a negotiation next year trying to do the same thing, having this go into the season, but also just for the players having the ability to have some consistency there, for players planning with their families and trying to get guys to return for multiple seasons."

One benefit of the health care agreement, players told ESPN, is opening a path for players who were no longer eligible to remain on their parents' insurance after the age of 26. "A lot of guys have started to realize sometimes it takes maybe a year, two years, three years in spring football to hopefully get back to the NFL," said London Crusaders P Sterling Hofrichter, who is 28. "So just having that ability to have that year-round healthcare for people, the extra wages, I think it really does help bridge the gap that people were having before."

PayPal Owner Peter Thiel Adds Berlin Thunder to Impressive Portfolio

May 6, 2025

Berlin, GERMANY - Peter Thiel and the Founders Football Fund LLC were introduced as the owners of the Berlin Thunder, a professional football team playing in the merged NFL World League-UFL. The Thunder will now be playing their home games at the Olympiastadion stadium. "We are very excited with the UFL merger and Olympiastadion is the perfect location to grow this team," said Thiel, the founder and owner of PayPal.

"We are proud to welcome the Founders Football Fund to the UFL family," said Commissioner Russ Brandon. "Their exceptional dedication to Berlin and athletics, coupled with the strong community support left no doubt that Berlin could take the next step competitively, were key indicators that this was a good fit."

"Growing the economic benefit of Olympiastadion Stadium is a priority for us. Now, we not only celebrate and make use of this field as a traditional soccer stadium, but we welcome other, alternative activities," stadium manager Marc Molinaro said. "Bringing a professional American football team to Olympiastadion is an exciting addition to Berlin and the region as a whole. Autumn in Berlin is pretty special; the spring will be even better, because we are adding football to the foliage. We look forward to defending Germany."

UFL Remains Committed to Memphis Despite Attendance Issues

May 19, 2025

Memphis, TN - The spring league is committed to the Memphis market, even if the Memphis market might not yet be committed to the UFL via Jonah Dylan of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, UFL executives have reiterated their belief in Memphis as the host city for the Express. “We just take it one season at a time,” UFL executive vice president of football operations Daryl Johnston said. “I think you’re going to see a result of the time and energy that was put into it this offseason. We’ve got great people on the ground. And it’s just a question of a little bit more publicity and knowledge of the Express being here, and that’s something that we face in all the markets. And spring is a challenging platform.”

Memphis averaged 16,900 fans for its 2024 home games. St. Louis drew more than 44,000 per game, on average. “It’s a historical market, obviously,” UFL president Russ Brandon said. “The Showboats have tremendous history here in Memphis. As we came together with the merger, obviously Memphis was a key market as part of legacy USFL. And we’ve just continued to look at building it.”

Memphis isn’t the only challenge. Johnston pointed out that the Birmingham Iron home games lower bowl isn’t filled on a consistent basis. There’s nothing wrong with giving the current markets time to grow, especially since there’s no guarantee that a new market would perform better. The UFL works in St. Louis because: (1) they love football; (2) the NFL took their football away; and (3) supporting the UFL operates as a middle finger to the team that left town. That’s why it makes sense to look at other markets the NFL has abandoned or ignored. It’s not just a matter of finding major population centers. It’s about places where the UFL will resonate, for whatever reason. TV and gambling will be primary revenue streams for the UFL. Still, to get people to choose to turn on their televisions and watch, it’s helpful for those folks to see that people who live near the venues find the games sufficiently compelling to devote the time and money necessary to show up. Patience is required, for now. Eventually, it might take creativity to arrange the teams in a way that makes every game feel like a big deal.
