1. There's no universal offers window, where you can shop and see all offers in one place (see the free game basketballgm for this). Being able to shop players is the right move in the right direction. We don't need something exactly like what I'm suggesting but it's a pain to have to go through every team one by one and see what they will offer. Especially having to find the right teams in the team list.
I will start off by saying I'm not going to go look at other games and see what they do for the purpose of incorporating it into my games. The reason it works the way it does is because I want, when possible, to give you the feeling of being a GM. A GM can't put out a league wide email saying X is available for trade, what will you give me. As it is the shop player option at least lets you know what teams might be interested so you only have to contact the teams that are interested and generally because of the salary rules and such its not going to be more than a handful of teams who are interested in your player
2. The roster table is not intuitive. We can't select the stats we want to see. Being forced to click every player one by one is so annoying. I don't understand why this hasn't been addressed yet after so many years. For example, why is there no way for me to see the age of players in the trade window. I think it's pretty important to be able to know the ages of all the players you might want to trade or trade for to help figure out their value to you.
OK what stats do you want to see? The basics are there but if there are others that you need to be able to know before you make a trade they can probably be added to another window. You also can see the ages of all the players - in the drop down next to where you select the teams choose the Salary & Bio Info and all the ages will be shown along with their long term contract status. All of those things can be viewed without having to click on players individually - just change the information you want to view from that drop down and its all there for all the players at once.
3. No way to remove items from the left pane. You have to look for it and hit the x next to the item to remove it. There are a lot of picks and players to go through.. it's pretty annoying to have to look through them all. Not to mention the visual bugs, where the x doesnt even appear next to selected items sometimes.
That is true you can't remove items from the left pane because that lists the entire team roster and slate of picks owned so nothing from there can be removed. It would be worse if somehow you could remove players for whatever reason you would want to do that and then need to add them back in when you realize the deal won't work without salary filler so then you have to start over because if you removed them where would they go to be brought back from? To remove a player from the right side pane (the trade) you hit the X button which is in the same spot the arrow button is to add the player to the trade in the roster window. Are you just saying that if you add a player to the trade and then scroll down its hard to quickly find him again in the list to be able to click the X to take him out?
There's other stuff. I'll try to remember to add them to the list here if I remember them, but this is what's currently on my mind off the top of my head. I would like to at least see a FEW things fixed or improved in these regards, even if it's not the way suggested here.
I want to finish up my reply with a couple of items. First you only (as of me posting) have 15 posts here and I didn't see any of them relating to complaints about the UI so its not like you have brought up issues before and I have refused to comment or have a dialogue or anything. If you read through the forums you will see that if people have constructive criticism and offer ideas and solutions at the bare minimum there is a dialogue and in some cases, as with your post on wanting arrows for the clothes there's a good idea and even a helpful little mock up and I'm happy to implement it. Sometimes I don't agree or don't like the idea and I don't put it in. Maybe I don't remember about it and need to be reminded and then it gets in. The only time I ignore comments is when someone posts such and such sucks this is the worst game ever so if there are things you feel could be better by all means bring them up, have ideas on how to make it better and I am happy to discuss or explain why something is the way it is.
Sorry I wanted to wait until I was back in the game before giving a fair evaluation of things after having read your thoughts. You are right, just saying something sucks, is not useful feedback by any counts.
1. To be completely fair, a GM has to do a lot of little annoying things too in their work life, I don't think players want to relive and micromanage ALL the tedious bits. However I get your point and where you're coming from, that's why I suggested if there is an alternative idea, that would be more than welcome too. Honestly I dont see this as a big deal if it really interferes with your vision for the game, if enough QoL additions or changes are made to make the who user experience more pleasant. I've suggested some below which I think are fair to have if nothing else.
2. I want to be able to at least see potential and age in the same view. It's helpful when you're trying to shop for younger players. I understand I can swap between views, or click the players name but clicking back and forth gets kind of annoying.
3. > Are you just saying that if you add a player to the trade and then scroll down its hard to quickly find him again in the list to be able to click the X to take him out?
To be frank, yes, it's kind of annoying to have to do, especially after hitting get offer, and not liking the offer so you want to remove items from either side to adjust it.
I said I would add more stuff that I think could use improvement once I remember them so after playing some more hours here they are:
4. We should be able to add restrictions when asking for offers. For example, a ban button/toggle of some sort next to player/draft pick items, so when you hit get offer the CPU will not be allowed to ask for those items (or offer them if its apart of the other team's war chest). In a real situation, an actual GM would be able to tell other parties what is and isnt on the table when asking for offers, so I think it would be fair to say this wouldn't take away from an accurate emulation?
5. I would like a reset button next to the get offer button. It's annoying have to remove items from my side of the deal when I want to go try getting offers from other teams, since you cant ask for offers when picks are included, etc. This is a QoL suggestion, that would be much appreciated.
6. I would like the ability to include multiple players, or picks when asking for offers. I think this makes sense, in a real life situation, you should be able to get offers for example, for X players and FRP if you wanted, etc. Doesnt make sense to me that it only be limited to singular players.
I genuinely hope some of these suggestions can be considered, and not just taken as a slight or me saying "oh this sucks".
