Player Ratings

Postby SgtMcNab » Wed Feb 26, 2025 3:26 pm

Guys,

How do I see player ratings? Every team/player I click on I can just see 0's

In most modes of play you do not see them until you start games and scout that team, then you see ratings. I Universe Mode you see all ratings immediately.

Thanks,

It would be useful to have an option to mask player attributes or not really?

The reason it is done this way is to reflect reality - not every player will have 0's - if you click on the teams with the elite players you will see those ratings but you see 0's for everyone else. The reason? You as a coach don't know anything about those players until you scout them for an upcoming game. I'm going to go out on a limb and say most coaches would struggle to name one player from a school that is in a conference that has nothing to do with them and they will never run into. Sure every coach knows who Cooper Flagg is and that's reflected by the first statement but for all the other players you don't learn about them until its time to play them

Is there a reason we can't just be given the option to turn off attribute masking? I've seen the feedback of "just play in universe mode" in prior years, but advancing through stages like recruiting in universe mode is like 5x as many clicks compared to normal single player. It is just tedious.

I get the "realism" point, even if i'm not fully onboard given the extensive amount of data available to real-life programs compared to what we can easily get to in-game, but i'd rather just have the option to decide for myself instead of having that "realism" argument. FM/OOTP/etc all have the option of turning off attribute masking.

I guess the ither concern is that if you hardly ever play a team out of conference you will never see the stats of other players?

You can see stats of every player. Just can't see ratings, Floor ranges, etc

The reason is that its not how the game is meant to work. It's a design choice that you as the coach are supposed to be in this world of largely unknown players and that you aren't even totally aware of what the players you have should be rated let alone players on the other side of the country that you have no reason to care about. You are supposed to make decisions based on the results you are seeing and the stats that are being produced. I'm a fan of the civilization series - to me this is like asking why don't they just tell you what plots of lands are going to have the good resources or show you the entire world map so you know where all your competitors are?

However since I've already added the option for accurate player ratings I will just expand that option so that if you turn it on you get all the ratings. I want the game to be enjoyable for those who are playing it so there will be the default method and then the option you can turn on when creating the league to play in a "revealed" game world starting in the next update.

Not to make you crazy, Gary, but I like having my team members ratings highly accurate. Don't like having every player in the game that way. Seems to me I would have a VERY good idea about my players, less so for conference rivals, and MUCH less so for all other teams. I know you can't please everyone.
