Rookie WorkoutsMy first pick is likely to be Francesco Ravanelli. A 19 Year Old, 6'8 Shooting Guard out of Italy. He looks like a real talent. WSSN rate him 4/5 while my coaches say he is 5/5. This is pre workout though we will see how he is.
I have also arranged workouts for the following;
Tyron Marsh - 6'4 SG (Providence)
Terence Keys - 6'10 PF (Cincinatti)
Brandtd Acani - 5'11 PG (Stetson)
Mike Williams - 6'9 SF (Wake Forest) *Mock Drafts have us picking at 7th*
Gordon Lawson - 6'11 PF (LIU Brooklyn)
Chad Moran - 6'9 SF (Vanderbilt)
Tom Stephenson - 6'6 SF (Georgia Tech)
Carlo Gauchi - 6'9 C (Italy)
Viktor Konovaleav - 7'2 C (Russia) *Mock Drafts have us picking at 4th*
David Robinson - 6'6 PG (Georgia Tech)
Marcus Diggs - 6'3 SG (Arizona)
Ratko Dragomaovic - 6'9 PF (Serbia)
Ashley Williams - 6'3 SG (Maryland)
Chris Crenshaw - 6-5 SG (Virginia Tech)
NBA Draft 20131 - Brooklyn Nets
Francesco Ravanelli, 6'8 SG (Italy)How perfect this is. We loved everything we saw from this kid in the workouts. Dubbed "The Phenom", draft experts have described him as a freak blend of Lebron's size and athleticism, with Kobe's desire, attitude, and ability to get any shot he wants. He is someone who will want the ball alot. With his ability I see no problem in that. His defense is ok, although he is a steal specialist. Hopefully Francesco will live up to the huge expectations. He averaged 23.9 PPG, 6.4 APG, 5.1 RPG, and 2.6 SPG in the Italian League with Siena. He was named league MVP and was voted to the all league 1st team, and 1st defense team.
2 - Phenoix - Mike Williams, 6'9 SF (Wake Forest)
3 - Denver - Carlo Gauci, 6-9 C (Italy)
TradeORL Get: 2013 1st Round Pick (#4)
BKL Get: 2014 1st Round Pick
I probably should of got alot more for this but I feel Orlando in 2013-14 will not be good. It was a tough decision to make but there was just no one I liked at this spot. The consesus number 2, Terence Keys, was still on the board but he had not impressed me one bit in the workout. I think I just want to go with our 7th pick and look at next years draft aswell.
4 - Orlando - Terrence Keys, 6'10 PF (Cincinati)
5 - Charlotte - Gordon Lawson, 6'11 PF (LIU Brooklyn)
6 - Portland - Marcus Diggs, 6-3 PG (Arizona)
7 - Brooklyn -
Viktor Konovalev, 7'2 C (Russia)Predicted to go to us at 4 originally. I know our aim is to get Dwight Howard which makes this a strange pick. He was the best player on the board and there just wasnt any SF on there that filled me with confidence. This guy has size, a good low post offense. He will probably be a bench option/trade bait but we will see. That's my draft done. I wont be looking to get involved in trades right now. He averaged 12.0 PPG, 1.3 APG, 8.7 RPG, 3.1 BPG with Moscow in the Russian League where he was voted MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and voted to the All League 1st Team and All League 1st Defensive Team
8 - New York -Tyron Marsh, 6'4 SG (Providence)
9 - Orlando - Chad Moran, 6'9 SF (Vanderbilt)
10 - Memphis - Chris Crenshaw, 6'5 SG (Virginia Tech)
So that's the top 10 and now we can start looking towards the Summer League and after that, the moment we've been waiting all year for. Free Agency.
