Thanks everyone for putting their player in, I've updated the draft crop to have you near the top. My break was great but I'm back in the cold so I better keep typing to keep warm.

February Player of the Month – Mark Lewis, Utah Jazz – 26.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 3.1 blocks per game.

February Rookie of the Month – Lance Ellis, San Diego Riders – 16.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.0 blocks per game.

We start the month with a heart stopping 120-115 win as Boston roared back from double digits in the last quarter to nearly snatch the win but we held on, just. Sean Gilmore was the high man with 34 points while Jacob Alexander had 23 points in the win. Varlam Chavchavadze led the way for the Celtics with 32 points while Raul Lopez wasn’t far behind with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Dallas Mavericks 48-9

That’s more like it. The first quarter against the Spurs was like an All Star game as the score was 47-34 in our favour. Marcus Randle stepped up with 26 points and 17 rebounds as seven Maverick players were in double figures, led by Iman Shumpert, David Forney and Ryan Robinson combining for 39 points off the bench. Vitaly Ekomov led the way for San Antonio with 23 points as Marco Barker had 10 assists off the bench.

Dallas Mavericks 49-9

Will it be 50 wins or 10 losses first in our away game against Minnesota? Unfortunately Enrique Mendez put that 50 win scenario out of our minds with 40 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds as the Wolves torched us 125-112. Brad Beal is playing a supersub type role and did it to perfection, with 25 points in only 24 minutes. Camah Williams didn’t play a minute though. Our best was Marcus Randle with 25 points and 10 rebounds while Iman Shumpert put up 17 points in 17 minutes.

Dallas Mavericks 49-10

It didn’t take us long to notch our 50th win, with a 131-84 smattering of Utah behind Matt Brown’s spectacular 18 points, 15 assists and 7 steals. What makes it better for Brown is that it was against his old buddy Jevin Lindeman, who had 0 points and 4 turnovers in the game. David Forney is showing his importance off the bench with 16 points in 13 minutes, similar to what Sean Gilmore did last season. Derrick Favors had 17 points and 12 rebounds while Mark Lewis was held to only 13 points and 9 rebounds. To make matters worse for the Jazz is that those two guys combined for 11 turnovers in the game.

Dallas Mavericks 50-10

Poor DeMarcus Cousins. He left a terrible Sacramento team to join a now terrible New York team, who are sitting at 17-44. He had 15 points and 13 rebounds but added eight turnovers and went 4/14 from the field. Promising youngster Vlado Prazina had a worse game with a 0/4 shooting night for only 2 points. So where did their scoring come from? It didn’t, as Jamal Howell top scored with 19 points as they shot 29% from the field to our 55% as we annihilated them 123-69 as the benches were cleared early. Joe Duggins had a great game with 20 points and 15 rebounds as we had eight players in double figures. Just a brutal game for any New York fans watching; I’m sure they would want me back now.

Dallas Mavericks 51-10

Andre Drummond had 33 points and 9 rebounds while Marcus Randle had 25 points and 11 rebounds but it was Matt Brown who led us to a 133-99 away win over Phoenix. Our quarter time lead was 41-28 and that ballooned to 72-47 as Brown added 14 points and 20 assists on 5/6 shooting to negate the leading assist man in the NBA Reggie Dobbins to only 12 points and 14 assists.

Dallas Mavericks 52-10

Our biggest lead against the Riders was 61 points as we scored over 30 points in all but the first but they didn’t get to 20 points in any of the quarters as we roll on 125-64. Marcus Randle was again our best with 22 points and 13 rebounds as Iman Shumpert had 18 points off the bench. Jimmy Forrest was the only San Diego player in double figures with 22 points but he added eight turnovers. Hell, the rest of the team shot a terrible 14/64 or 21%. Imagine what they would have been like if Forrest wasn’t there.

Dallas Mavericks 53-10

It was a race to player of the game between Marcus Randle and Jacob Alexander in our 136-88 victory over Brooklyn. Randle had 27 points and 7 rebounds but it was Alexander who took the nod with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Blake Griffin showed that he can still bring it with 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench but at 35 years old he is definitely over the hill. It’s good to see Lars Ray starting, and had 16 points in the loss.

Dallas Mavericks 54-10

Andre Drummond had 29 points and 12 rebounds as we ride a hot shooting 29-14 last quarter to get past Golden State 111-94. Iman Shumpert has been a godsend off the bench lately and tonight he had 17 points in 19 minutes. The Buzzsaw led the Warriors with 21 points and Willis Owens put up 13 points and 13 rebounds trying to guard Drummond.

Dallas Mavericks 55-10

We’re on a roll at the moment and when this team is rolling it’s hard to stop. The Nuggets worked that out as we kept on rolling with a 121-99 win in the Mile High City. Jacob Alexander had 32 points but it was all Matt Brown, putting up 11 points, 24 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals in the win. Chris Drexler fouled Marcus Randle out in only 16 minutes on his way to 31 points and 11 rebounds, but he did only shoot 9/21 from the field.

Dallas Mavericks 56-10

I’m such an idiot. Why did I have to open my big mouth and talk about how we’re rolling, and you can’t stop us and such rubbish? Anyway, our rolling came to a brick wall by the name of San Diego as the Riders pipped us at the post with a 123-122 win. Stefan Nitschke was great with 26 points and Lance Ellis showed how good a rookie can be this season with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Hell that was all without Jimmy Forrest who only played 19 minutes because of foul trouble. That was because of Andre Drummond’s 30 points and 8 rebounds as we shot better than the Riders (50% to 46%) but they went to the line much more than us and actually hit their free throws (39/45, 87%).

Dallas Mavericks 56-11

We get back to our winning ways against the other team in that massive trade, as we beat up Milwaukee 114-103. Marcus Randle stood up for 27 points and 8 rebounds while Matt Brown added 19 points and 14 assists in the win. Christopher de Castro had a strange night, going 6/19 for 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 turnovers. Raoul Dumas was the best with 22 points in the loss.

Dallas Mavericks 57-11

Without Raoul Dumas or Brad Beal the Hawks are in freefall, sitting near the bottom with only 12 wins on their belt. It didn’t get any better against us as we push them further down with a 115-99 away victory. Andre Drummond, Marcus Randle and Sean Gilmore combine for 73 points, 28 rebounds and 7 blocks in the win for a truly dominant front court display. Matt Fergerson and Anthony Allison combined for 44 points in the loss but they are very much in rebuilding mode.

Dallas Mavericks 58-11

In a very uneventful game, we beat the Cavs 107-86 as Sean Gilmore led the way with 22 points. David Forney had 13 points in 12 minutes off the bench but other than that it was a snoozer. Ron Winston is now starting at PG *giggle* and had 18 points and 1 assist *giggle*. DUMBEST MOVE EVER.

Dallas Mavericks 59-11

Our last game for March is a 120-93 win over Orlando has Andre Drummond stole the show with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Brown was close to a triple double with 9 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds but was guarded all the way by Nashon Smith who had 17 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds.

Dallas Mavericks 60-11

After another great month we are now 13 games in front of Portland and seven games in front of New Orleans for the best record in the league, and with only 11 games left in the season it’s nearly time to rest some starters. That Durant/Chase trade has worked out pretty well for Portland I think. Houston and Nevada are close behind at 46-26. Oklahoma City have bottomed out and are now at 17-52. I’m guessing they will be close to a full rebuild soon.

As I said the Hornets are our closest rivals at 56-18 while Cleveland are at 48-28 in second place. Atlanta are at the bottom of the league at 12-63, 12 games behind second last placed New York.

Dallas Top Points
Andre Drummond – 18.8
Jacob Alexander – 18.8
Marcus Randle – 18.8

How about that for evenness?

Dallas Top Assists
Matt Brown – 12.4
Iman Shumpert – 3.9
Ryan Robinson – 1.8

Dallas Top Rebounds
Marcus Randle – 9.3
Andre Drummond – 8.0
Sean Gilmore – 5.1

League Leaders
Points – Jimmy Forrest (SDR) – 28.0
Assists – Reggie Dobbins (PHO) – 13.3
Rebounds – Mark Lewis (UTA) – 11.5
Blocks – Anthony Davis (NOH) – 4.0
Steals – Li-chi King (PHI) – 3.2
Efficiency – Anthony Davis (NOH) – 28.9

Rookie Leaders
Points – Lance Ellis (SDR) – 15.6
Assists – Adarrial Faye (OKC) – 3.4
Rebounds – Matt Piatowski (IND) – 6.9
Blocks – Brian Caldwell (POR) – 1.9
Steals – Tim Westbrooks (ATL) – 1.4
Efficiency – Lance Ellis (SDR) – 16.4

Last Round of NBA Draft Prospects
1. (1) PG Cort Majishun (Washington), Freshman, 6’3”, 187lbs
2. (NR) PF Terry McKenzie (UCLA), Junior, 6’10”, 256lbs
3. (3) SG Mike Bickerstaf (Illinois), Freshman, 6’6”, 186lbs
4. (4) SG Kenneth Long (Texas), Freshman, 6’5”, 205lbs
5. (NR) SG Chris Canal (North Carolina), Sophomore, 6’3”, 207lbs

Thoughts – Yes, Marius White has changed his name to “Cort Majishun”, could be a new Metta World Peace. I still like Bickerstaf but McKenzie is the readymade player in this draft. Out of the top five I like #7 Chris “Wizard” Jones out of England and #9 Jack Dawkins out of Fairfield. The reason why Jones is out of the top five is that he is in England and there isn’t much coverage of a 19 year old across the pond while Dawkins has the most potential of this draft but he is extremely raw. Think Tiburcio Tommasini who dropped to #7 in his draft because of his greenness but is now averaging 20 points a game in his second season. Maybe not that much but Dawkins has the potential to get close.

March Player of the Month – Kyrie Irving, Houston Rockets – 30.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

March Rookie of the Month – Michael Taylor, Los Angeles Lakers – 15.2 points, 2.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 0.3 blocks per game.

To start the end of the season we are at 60-11, with New Orleans behind us at 57-18 which means we can lose seven more games and still be tied for the best record in the league. That means if we can win the first four of our games we should be in the clear and at the stage of resting people.

Our first game is on the right track with a 128-86 win over Phoenix as Matt Brown has his annual “stuff you guys I’m going to score first” game with 25 points and only 7 assists while Marcus Randle put up 20 points and 10 rebounds. Emmett Emerson led the way for the Suns with 19 points and 7 rebounds as they had two players with 11 points and three with 10 points but the team shot 38% from the field.

Dallas Mavericks 61-11

It’s back to normal as Matt Brown has 15 points and 18 assists as we brush past the Warriors 129-99. Marcus Randle was outstanding with 32 points, 12 rebounds and 5 steals as we shot 57% from the field. The two L.McMillian’s were the best for the Dubs, combining for 41 points and 11 rebounds.

Dallas Mavericks 62-11

The Kings may be middling but that didn’t stop them from staying with us for the entire game. Both teams had double figures leads but luckily ours was at the end as we took the game 106-100. Marcus Randle and Dylan Hahn had a great battle with Randle having 28 points and 13 rebounds to best Hahn’s 20 points and 12 rebounds. Matt Brown shot badly but still had a stat line of 10 points, 19 assists and 8 rebounds as Joe Abney actually shot half decently for 26 points and 8 rebounds.

Dallas Mavericks 63-11

In a game where Washington turned the ball over an astonishing 34 times it was inevitable that we would win, and win big 124-102. Andre Drummond, Marcus Randle and Sean Gilmore all scored 21 points with various other stats while Joe Duggins had 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Rowan Taylor is starting for the Wizards at PF and had 19 points and 8 turnovers while Varlam Cherkezov turned the ball over 7 times as we had 24 steals for the game.

Dallas Mavericks 64-11

With our 113-97 win over Charlotte we now have a seven game lead over New Orleans with six games to go, so we have wrapped up home court advantage for the playoffs. Marcus Randle had 21 points and 15 rebounds while Iman Shumpert was amazing with 14 points and 13 assists off the bench. Our ex-captain Harrison Barnes had 23 points while Alton Hardy didn’t do much with 3 points and Reggie Blake had 9 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 turnovers. It’s great to see Blake starting for the Bobcats as I can definitely see him averaging nearly 20 points a game in a few years.

Dallas Mavericks 65-11

I sign my old friend Ricardo Marquardt from the free agent pile to be fill our roster to 15 players and with resting players here is our new starters –

PG – Ryan Robinson
SG – Iman Shumpert
SF – Sean Gilmore
PF – Royce White
C – Joe Duggins

Guess what? We won! We beat the woeful Thunder 135-108 as we shot 52% from the field. Sean Gilmore had 21 points while Ryan Robinson added 18 points and 7 assists and the Joe Duggins/Royce White combination added 27 points and 28 rebounds. Adarrial Faye was electric with 29 points and Russell Westbrook added 22 points but when we shoot this good even with our bench players we are a hard team to beat.

Dallas Mavericks 66-11

Great, in our 119-109 loss to San Diego Royce White and David Forney sprain an ankle and wrist respectively and will be out until the playoffs. Iman Shumpert was our best with 23 points while Ryan Robinson is showing that he can still play with 19 points and 8 assists. Serge Ibaka will now start at PF as we’ll rest White and Forney. Jimmy Forrest tore us to pieces with 31 points in 27 minutes while Dionsio Mason was equally impressive with 28 points in the win.

Dallas Mavericks 66-12

Another win for the B-team as we beat up the Pacers 98-86 with a whopping 50 points in the paint, led by Joe Duggins’ 23 points and 17 rebounds. Ricardo Marquardt heaped on the misery with 10 points and 12 rebounds as we had 61 rebounds in the game. Darrell Hampton was the only good Pacer with 29 points as Matt Piatoswki went 0/5 for only 3 points and Alexander Verhaeren went 3/12 for 8 points and 11 rebounds.

Dallas Mavericks 67-12

Did I tell you how deep this team is? We get out to a 35-16 first quarter lead to cruise to a 121-99 victory. Sean Gilmore put up 30 points and 9 rebounds while Joe Duggins added 30 points of his own, all handed by Ryan Robinson’s 13 points and 12 assists. Marlon Haymon led the Grizzlies with 23 points but the team is really on the downward swing. They have been like that since I left actually.

Dallas Mavericks 68-12

In a move that everyone saw coming, Mark Lewis led the Jazz to a 102-93 win. Lewis had 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks while Derrick Favors added another 20 points to take us out of the game. Sean Gilmore needed 25 shots to score 22 points and Ryan Robinson added 20 points of his own.

Dallas Mavericks 68-13

Our last game of the season is a 111-100 win over Houston as Ryan Robinson absolutely destroyed Kyrie Irving in a completely one sided battle. Robinson had 35 points on a scorching 13/16 shooting while holding Irving to only 15 points and 5 turnovers on 5/13 shooting. Talk about a blanking. Paul George woke up enough for 16 points off the bench.

Dallas Mavericks 69-13

Any chance of a late player entry to the draft? I don't even have to be that good (much like reality!)
