We're dominatingthe rebounding battle, but our poor shooting, and PG Anthony Martin's 3 passing errors meant the score to be still close. Up 11-8, 11:26. No matter how bad DEL's outside shooting is (1-8 3PT), they would eventually take the lead given the manner we played in the 1st half. Halftime, Down 22-25.
Key stats / Notes (Halftime)
- Turn overs: TOW 10, DEL 2
- Rebounding: TOW 23, DEL 14
- We need to forget our performance in the 1st half, and we must realize that we still have a good chance of winning this game. We need to be aggressive to take the ball inside, in order to fish some fouls and score pts from the FT line.
Start of 2nd half
6 of our 1st 14 pts were from the FT line, as we repeatedly take the ball inside the paint. Up 36-30, 15:35. Outside of C Alex Demond, my two other players in the post (C Herbert Desmond and PF Bevon Green) have combined for 19 pts. SG Cain Ward beginning to heat up as well. But DEL is still keeping this game close. We have already equaled our production in the entire 1st half, with almost 12 mins remaining in the 2nd half. Up 44-39, 11:58.
DEL was 2-16 3PT earlier, but has connected on 5 of their last 9 attempts. Up 54-53, 6:13. Up 3. Up 1. Up 3. And then DEL tied the game on their 8th triple of the game. On our next play, DEL got called for their 7th team foul. Tied at 58, 3:37.
PF Bevon Green to shoot 1-and-1. Green hits both. Up 60-58, 3:37.
DEL was able to convert a FG. Tied once again. PF Bevon Green gets the ball on the post, and Green scores. Green has 15 pts for the game. Up 62-60, 3:04.
DEL hits another 3. I should have shifted to m2m defense, but will do so on the successive plays. We go down by 1. DEL with another 3! That is their 9th 3pt shot in the 2nd half. Timeout. Down 62-66, 1:59.
C Alex DeMond able to fish a foul, and hits both FTs. Down 2. We got called for a shooting foul. 2 FTs for DEL. Split. Timeout. Down 64-67, 1:27.
SG Cain Ward receives the pass. Ward puts up a 3 pt shot. Shot is good! Ward with 17 pts. Tied at 67, 1:16.
DEL missed a 3. But they get the off rebound. The put back is good! Lost opportunity for us. Timeout. Down 67-69, 0:50.
Foul called on DEL. PF Bevon Green to shoot 1-and-1 again. Green calmly sinks both. Tied at 69, 0:43.
We got called for a foul. Only our 6th team foul, but it was the 5th foul of backup PG Nick Granger. I opted to play Granger more, because starting PG Anthony Martin has had too many turn overs passing the ball. Now, I have no choice but to put back Martin
DEL inbounds the ball again. They attempt a 3, but SG Cain Ward blocks the shot. Good defensive effort by Ward blocking a 3pt shot. We recover the ball. I called my last timeout. Tied at 69, 0:28.
We want to take the last. But SG Haven Wilkerson saw an open lane. Wilkerson drives, and scores! Timeout DEL. Up 71-69, 0:15.
DEL burns all their timeout. Now both teams have no timeouts left
DEL inbounds. PF Bevon Green forces his man to commit a turn over. What a game by Green. 0:06 left. DEL will likely give up a quick foul. They did. Double bonus. 2 FTs for SG Haven Wilkerson. Wilkerson gets both. 0:03 left, 2 possession ball game. It's over. What a game

Notes
- We almost lost because of the 19 fast break pts we gave up. The players persevered; with superb FT shooting (15-16 FT for the game) and a couple of key defensive stops in the end, we're able to snatch away a road win against the team who beat us in last season's tournament championship game.
- DEL shot 10-31 3PT
