after a puzzling 57-55 loss at home to Indiana, we defeated 18 ranked Georgia Tech decisively on the road 68-53, and played solid defense against a high scoring North Carolina St. on the road winning 72-61 despite a hatful of foul trouble in the first half. We finish the non-conference schedule 11-2 and 7-0 against the top 25 (actually the top 18, with 3 of those wins coming on the road). We'll open our conference season with our 3rd straight road game at Colorado St. Air Force, which is supposed to be down this year, didn't get the memo and has recent wins over #15 Kansas and #7 UConn and have an RPI of 35. Wyoming has been impressive as well at times, so the conference schedule may not be the cake walk everyone predicted and have an RPI of 36. TCU is also in the top 100 at 86, and the entire conference appears stronger this year top to bottom with 2 other teams in the top 120.
We enter the conference season still ranked #3 with the nations top RPI.
