QB Removed from game for too many rushing yards.

QB Removed from game for too many rushing yards.

Hey guys!

I've been running into this issue for a couple of years now and meant to mention it each time, so figured Id do it now before I forget again.

I've had a few mobile QBs have EPIC games on the ground with a couple of big chunk runs.. EXAMPLE: 6 carries for 140 yards, 2 TDs on the ground.. meanwhile passing they are 4/11, 115 yards, 1 TD... but because of the rushing numbers they get auto-subbed out of the game no matter what time of the game.

As a result I've had a team lose multiple sims because their back up QB comes in in the 3rd quarter of a 3 TD leading game... then the other team comes back and wins because the original stud QB never gets put back in.

I've worked around it with removing all backups to the QB in the depth chart, but is there a chance to tweak the sim's AI pulling guys because they are having TOO good of a day? I've had it happen with WR and RBs as well but not as extreme.

I'd have to look into this. There are some checks in there to prevent people from spamming broken plays or for players getting unrealistic yardage totals but I think we can loosen those and move to more realistic checks to resolve it.

Was the game a blowout? In blowout games, the AI will put backups in so the starters don't get hurt.

Could it be from fatigue? I mean if your QB rips off a chunk play, I understand that QBs don't typically come off of the field but in a sim engine I imagine at some point fatigue could be a factor and they get subbed out.

That was the overall thought when I wrote the code, but it doesn't really work right if you have a guy rip off 2 80 yard runs in the first half. They should be rested up enough to come out in the 2nd half. Of course leading by 3 TD a lot of backups will make it into the game. So this may be normal as long as the starting QB comes back in when the game gets close.

I currently have a game going to OT and the star WR for one team has been out for the entire 4th quarter because he was 8 catches, 160 yards and 1 TD.

Im not complaining hardcore, I would just request a little loosening of the checks, but I do understand why they are their so you cant exploit the mismatches or broken plays that badly.
